- Developer Update - Leaning in to the Strategy Aspect - 1 March 2025
Seeing players try the demo during next fest has giving a lot of valuable feedback so I've made a couple of adjustments to the game. The order of Turn-Based Movement and Attacks More Strategic Players expected the chess pieces to behave a certain way and to be able to avoid taking damage so... The turn sequence has changed so your now able to step away from tiles where you would have taken damage. Works like this: Player makes a move Player units attack Enemy units attack (this moved up) Enemy units move (this moved down) Bosses move Traps trigger So now the enemy won't move and instantly attack you, you can plan ahead and completely avoid taking damage. Chess Pieces The Knight Attack Pattern During the demo the knight could jump in an L-shaped pattern but would attack any units close to it. This made it impossible to play around since you'd always take damage. Now the knight will attac…
