• New Ascension-Style Difficulty System - 29 April 2026

  https://i.imgur.com/AlMLbHH.png As more players complete runs and become comfortable with the core mechanics, a new system has been introduced to offer additional challenge and long-term progression. Obsession Burden is a scalable difficulty system that allows you to increase the intensity of your runs. Each level adds new constraints, enemy advantages, or limitations that progressively make survival more difficult. This system is entirely optional and can be selected before starting a new run. Higher levels represent a greater commitment, where each decision matters more and mistakes become increasingly costly. There are currently 13 levels of Obsession Burden available to explore and master. In the future, I’m considering adding a Daily Ranked Run Challenge. Do you think that’s a good idea? • Game Pacing & QoL Update – Community Requested Features - 24 April 2026

  https://i.imgur.com/ZVclllZ.png With more players exploring Umbra Lumen, a lot of feedback pointed toward pacing and flow during runs. This update adds a few highly requested features to give players more control over their experience: Skip Dialogue Option A new option has been added to skip dialogues entirely. When enabled, dialogues will no longer appear during gameplay, allowing for a much faster run flow. That said, no story is lost. If you choose to re-enable dialogues later, they will resume exactly from where you left off. Game Speed Options You can now adjust the overall game speed. This affects animations, dialogues, events, and general gameplay. This is especially useful for faster-paced runs and speedrunning. • Bug Fix – Turn Softlock - 20 April 2026

  This patch addresses a critical issue where combat would occasionally freeze during the enemy phase. After investigating, I found that the softlock occurred when an enemy was defeated during its own action—like through status effects like Regret or Retaliation. The bug was resolved by stoping the infinite loop if an enemy was destroyed while its action feedback was still playing. I want to thank everyone who has been submitting suggestions and bug reports. With more people playing, we are discovering issues I never even imagined, and I will do my best to ensure the game continues to evolve according to the community's vision

• Balance Changes – Buffing More Strategies - 19 April 2026

  https://i.imgur.com/urNEXTf.png As the number of players has grown, I’ve been able to observe more runs, feedback, and gameplay patterns. One thing became clear: some strategies were performing far above the rest and becoming too dominant. Because of that, this update focuses on strengthening underused options, improving the viability of a wider range of builds, and giving players a bit more room for error during their runs. General Changes Reduced Enemy Health: Some enemies, especially in World 2, had their maximum health reduced by 10–20% Store Price Reduction: Most shop prices reduced by 10 Gold, with "Card Offers" now starting at 60 Gold Player Health:: Starting player health increased by 10, and healing at rest increased from 40% to 60% of max health Card Buffs: Armor Breaker, The Tower, Urya's Blindness, Sick Bite, The Squire, Exposed Wound, Eye for Eye, Closure, Mark of Pain, Rem…

• Community requested adjusts - 17 April 2026

  GUI adjusts pointed by the community member Moonbane: 1. Resolutions now include refresh rate options; 2. The draw pile button is now adapted to different resolutions (Although Umbra Lumen doesn't work 100% perfectly at all resolutions, due to its design); 3. The settings button in the main menu is no longer black, being much more visible
