• I just pressed the button - 7 April 2025

  And the demo is out. Phew. It was a bit stressful, but what a journey! It seems like yesterday when I had the first idea about the game with four imps. And now anyone can play it. One level at least, which is part of the demo. Give it a try, let me know what you think! There are still a few smaller features that I want to add, but now rest of the game is mostly level design and making pixel art. • It’s the ’90s on your Steam Deck! - 26 March 2025

  That's right! You will soon be able to play with your imps on Steam Deck. Who knew? I didn’t, as I don’t own one (yet!). Fortunately, quite a few testers got interested in the game, and several of them have the console. Since the game has full controller support, Steam Deck handled it with no problems. That said, after several rounds of testing, the demo is almost here. Stay tuned...

• Extra nostalgia, anyone? - 16 January 2025

  There’s always one more thing to add! I try to keep the scope in check (you know, to actually finish the game), but I was playing around with a CRT filter, and it turned out really cool. Enlarge the bottom screenshot to actually see the CRT effect. It wasn’t part of the original concept, but leaning further into the retro aesthetic feels right. Honestly, I even prefer playtesting the game with this old monitor look now. Of course, you can toggle it on or off in the settings. I’m still debating if it should be on or off by default. • Six months in making - 8 January 2025

  I’ve been working on this for six months, though it feels much longer. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in years, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! At this point, the core of the game is done, as well as the majority of the graphic assets. Most of the remaining work is level design and polishing to make the gameplay silky smooth. So what’s next? Demo! The lovely, autumn-colored level Perilous Woods will be made into a public demo for everyone to try out. I’m expecting to have it ready in a few weeks—just as soon as I get more testers to play it and ensure there are no bugs or issues. Join my Discord server if you’re interested in testing!
