  • Devlog #5: Designing Bosses to Teach Through Fear - 16 February 2026

In today’s devlog, we are discussing one of the most important aspects of Nightmare Circus: the bosses’ design philosophy. During their development, we wanted to prioritize two main aspects for the biggest challenges: memorability and teaching the players. In Nightmare Circus, bosses and mini-bosses were never meant to be simple obstacles for players to overcome. They were created to be a means to learn the mechanics progressively. Through their moveset and abilities, they will make sure that you will master step-by-step the optimal actions that will defeat them, and eventually help you in future levels…Just as important, they must be memorable characters. If a boss is meant to test the player’s understanding, its identity must communicate that purpose instantly through shape, silhouette, movement, and atmosphere–even before the fight starts.Designing the “Face” of a LessonEvery time the…

  • Devlog #4: The Narrative in Nightmare Circus - 12 January 2026

The story of Nightmare Circus began as a simple idea: a small troupe of traveling circus performers who, unfortunately, strayed into the wrong place and found themselves trapped in a nightmare. From the beginning, we knew that we wanted Nightmare Circus to have a story that would integrate with Peppin’s journey throughout the game, visually and mechanically. From the base idea of just defeating bosses, saving our friends, and escaping the nightmare, we worked on expanding the story, using each troupe member’s fears and personality to build upon each world and its mechanics, hoping to give more prominence and importance to each battle Peppin faces and the bonds between him and his friends.Environmental StorytellingTo create a sense of immersion between gameplay and story, we created Nightmare Circus’s environmental storytelling system: aspects of the story are woven throughout the worlds…

  • Devlog #3: The Collision Combat System - 2 December 2025

Hey everyone! In today’s devlog, we want to discuss what we believe to be one of the most unique elements of Nightmare Circus: The Collision Combat System! When we first began building Nightmare Circus, we thought a straightforward, action combat system might be enough. Swing, dodge, strike! These bases were the standard path. But when we put the prototype in players’ hands, their reactions told us otherwise. We noticed the moments that made the players cheer, laugh, and lean forward weren’t from landing clean, precise combos or watching damage numbers fly…It was from the impact. At that moment, everything came crashing together (no pun intended). This realization was the gift of Nightmare Circus’ Collision Combat, a system that transforms the whole area into a playground zone where the player is in control. Because here, you are the puppeteer, pulling every string on your stage.Where the…

  • Dev Diary #2: Nightmare Circus at Tokyo Game Show 2025! - 28 October 2025

After returning from Gamescom Germany, our next goal was to showcase the long-awaited Collision Combat system to the world. But as every game developer knows, plans have a way of changing, and this time, fate brought us an even bigger stage: Tokyo Game Show 2025.We began preparing for this event back in March. It took more than six months of coordination, booth design, demo setup, merchandise production, and technical planning to make sure everything was ready for one of the world’s largest gaming shows. This year, we joined forces with Red Dunes Games, our publisher, whose booth had grown tenfold since last year. And our Nightmare Circus space was a true reflection of the game itself! The booth team faithfully recreated a scene straight out of the game: a circus tent that looked playful at first glance, but upon closer look, carried an eerie and unsettling undertone. Suspended from abov…

Short description

Nightmare Circus is an action-adventure game where the player takes on the role of a Puppeteer trapped in the Nightmare Realm. Set out on a journey to find his friends and escape the nightmare!

About this game

In this thrilling, nightmare-infused adventure, you as a puppet will harness the power of string & control bar to create an engaging combat system. With an arsenal of tools and abilities designed to decimate your enemies, manipulate their action, and solve complex puzzles. Combo system Take your puppeteer style combat to the next level with a fluid combo system that lets you mix and match your attacks with style. Choose from three unique control bars, each offering a different combat style to combine light but swift attack, long reaching medium attack, and bashing strike from heavy attacks into devastating combo sequences for the enemies. Collision Combat Smash, crash, and slam your way through enemies and obstacles with satisfying, high-impact collisions. Customize your playstyle to take down the twisted nightmare to rescue your friend. Wrap and Tie Dominate the enemies with your “puppet string”, wrap around them to pull them all into devastating crashes. Stunning them, and breaking objects as you solve puzzles and clear the path forward. Leap Conquer the nightmare realm's irregular terrain with your trusty string and control bar. Leap over vast gaps, hop between moving platforms, and evade deadly attacks as you leap toward the end of your journey. Slingshot Charge up your string and launch yourself like a projectile. Carve yourself a new path by crushing a giant boulder in your way, or turn the tide of any fight with precision and speed, send them flying with crushing impacts, interrupt the boss attacks, and gain overwhelming advantage. Hook Turn the environment into your ally by hooking. Pull foes into the abyss, or interrupt them to create opportunities for the perfect strike, control the battlefield with your creativity. Use the new hook and pull the ring to open a path forward in your journey. Link Link your enemies together and take them out in one fell swoop. Deal devastating chain damage by connecting multiple foes and connect an electrical circuit to solve complex puzzles. Use this newfound power to carve through monstrous hordes and puzzle to claim your victory over every obstacle that stands in your way.

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Oct 9, 2026 to Oct 9, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

Nightmare Circus's USD price history spans from Oct 9, 2026 to Oct 9, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

Nightmare Circus's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Oct 9, 2026 through Oct 9, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records Nightmare Circus at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
