• Whacky ideas, revised mechanics, and deep lore! - 31 January 2025

  Last year we started making this whacky and silly game but when we didn't get funding we were plunged into the serious adult world of having to work 'proper' jobs to make ends meet. HOWEVER, we have not forgotten our passion and childhood delusions that made us so eager to make this random ass game! With a new year comes new Ideas and so we decided to take the experiences we have gathered from our sudden adult lives and transpose it into the game. We want to tell a story that represents the internal struggle between wanting to be a silly chap, but also needing to be serious to uphold our adult responsibilities. Throughout the game there will now be a shift in perspective of how the world, and the computer is seen. 'Arjybeasts' is a playful perspective of a desktop computer, but 'Widow 7' is how it truly is. • Arjybeasts Dev Log #3 - Setting Achievable Goals (SAG) - 17 October 2024

  Currently the team is going through some growing pains as we didn't get the funding we needed for all team members to work full time on Arjybeasts. However, we are making an effort to work where we can and making sure we are Setting Achievable Goals (SAG) where possible. SAG can be done in 2 ways: 1. Reduce the complexity and quality of the game to make the tasks achievable within a reasonable time frame, then ship the game sooner to make a quick buck. 2. Maintain the game's integrity but increase the length of the development cycles in an effort to maximise the final product... and profit. We have decided as a team to SAG via the 2nd option. I think its important that we try our best to make a polished and complete product no matter how long it takes.   Feedback is the most important thing when developing a game, let alone a game you've been working on for upwards of a year. Feedback is also a corner stone of Arjybeasts as everything is done with UI and its important that the game is as intuitive as possible to ensure that players can grasp the game as quick as you can say "shpleganswamble". Changes: RGB Values are now visible when choosing a pixel. All files are single-click to open instead of double-click. Most people didn't know they could double click Replaced the delete buttons with open buttons, then made it so that files would delete upon closing the window that they opened. Animating moves when clicked. This made it clear that moves could be used more than once and adds to the overall game-feel Animated the points text. • Arjybeasts Dev Log #1 - Dundee - 1 October 2024

  Hey Everyone! ːsteamthumbsupː First off, a massive thanks to everyone who have wishlisted Arjybeasts on Steam, as indie devs it's quite a big shock to find out just how many people are interested in our silly little pixel game. ːsteamhappyː As you may know, we recently took part in Tranzfuser 2024 and were able to present at Protoplay in Dundee and it was amazing to see just how invested people got in the current state of the game. The build that we showcased at Protoplay wasn't in the best state (in my opinion) and the tutorial was a bit underdeveloped but the game was unexpectedly well-received and most people picked up the game surprisingly quickly. Since then, I have gone through and fixed the main issues the game was facing and it feels in a fairly good place right now (I also implemented minesweeper lol).
