- 2020 Hotfix 11 - 26 May 2020
Another hotfix is out... This one contains improvements for what was released in Hotfix 9 (smooth spawning) Overall smooth spawning will make the game more stable. It loads the vehicles and world assets in a way that guarantees no lag spikes will occur. This only applies to vehicles spawned from other players and world assets that stream in as you move. We have done extensive testing for this one to make sure the properties bug is truely fixed, which is why it took longer then expected. Other then that we have updated the devkit project with better export features for world assets https://github.com/copybugpaste/Homebrew-Devkit/tree/master As always, we'll keep our eyes open on Steam, DISCORD and our other channels. - Emergency Patch! - 14 April 2020
We've pushed an emergency patch to hopefully fix the tuner issues people have been facing introduced in the latest patch. We're not 100% certain this stops the bug from happening, but we've not encountered it happening again. So please make sure to update your game as soon as possible. Sorry again for any inconvenience this bug may have caused. Version 15.1 - 637224919994658326
- More reports on properties disappearing - 14 April 2020
We have had more reports on properties disappearing. More testing pointed out, this is a double layered bug. We found that it has something to do with building whilst in multiplayer. for now, build in single player, and save new copies of your vehicle to be safe! We are getting to the bottom of this issue, we will keep you posted on steam and discord.
- FIXED! - Game breaking bug found! - 12 April 2020
We've found a game-breaking bug in the current version of Homebrew, which can destroy properties/parts in vehicles. We're looking into this, and will upload a fix as soon as possible. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. In the meantime, we would highly suggest saving your vehicles as copies instead of overwriting existing files This bug has now been patched! Sadly the vehicles that suffered under this bug do not deserialize properly in the builder, so please load non-affected vehicles in the builder. Version 15.1 - 637223930770469227

- 2020 Hotfix 9! Big changes - 2 April 2020
Thin Atmosphere Homebrew now calculates ambient pressure, and uses these calculations for parts! This affects the performance of wings, props, jet engines, ramjets, and internal combustion engines. Rockets, Solid Fuel Rockets, and Electric Motors remain unaffected by these changes. The shock-cone effect also takes the altitude and pressure in mind, making it less visible with altitude, and removing it entirely apart from trans-sonic, and hyper-sonic speed regions. Along with that, all engines now consider wind-speed in their thrust calculations as well! There's also some visual changes because of this! You can now see the atmosphere 'thinning' out with altitude. You can see the result below. (click on it for a better preview, and bug Steam to add Webm support!) https://i.imgur.com/M70PBbI.gif Smooth Spawning We've also added a new way to spawn in world and user assets, Smooth Spawning.…

- 2020 First New Part! - 19 February 2020
Please welcome our newest part, The Weight https://i.imgur.com/F9Igrb2.gif Ever wanted to weigh down a creation, but didn't want to use the Ballast due to its size? Or maybe the minimum weight allowed by the Ballast was just a bit too much? Maybe you want a more "diverse" part to add some weight.. Well fear no longer! For the Weight has arrived! Modeled by our new intern, D-Licious! It scales completely based on the weight! So small weights will weigh a little, and lots of weights will weigh a lot! As you can see in the gif, the difference in size can be quite drastic, depending on how much you want it to weigh. What else is going on? As of right now, we're making the final list of parts to add to Homebrew - Patent Unknown. For those of you that have been watching our Progress Tracker, you've probably realized there's already a couple of parts on there. This allows us to focus our energ…

- Long have we waited. - 31 December 2019
https://i.imgur.com/yFPMGgF.png We have a lot to talk about in this post so feel free to scroll down and read about the subjects that matter most to you. Overall performance gains Baking our vehicles has always been about optimizing the result. We are glad to have found additional ways to optimize our vehicles even more. Especially for highly detailed vehicles where a lot of pipes, plates and shapes can be found. Fewer objects First we found a way to remove pipe, plate and shape objects after baking the vehicle. Reducing the amount of objects means that rotating or moving these vehicle pieces has much better performance. This example went from 432 objects to 3379 objects removed: https://i.imgur.com/t9bxCyr.png Fewer center of gravity points We were also able to combine center of gravity points in a better way than before. Fewer center of gravity points means less computation is needed…
- Homebrew - Patent Unknown - The Warehouse - 24 December 2019
Hey guys, Today's topic will be about The Warehouse As many of you know, Steam Workshop support has been down since the new builder released. Why? Because we noticed that Steam Workshop was doing more harm than good. To give a scenario: new player starts Homebrew for the first time, goes straight to most popular and starts downloading old vehicles that don't work anymore. We feel that vehicles are more like images where you want to share them quickly but you don't necessarily want to maintain them. That being said, we decided to build a better place to house your vehicles with the following features in mind. Multiple content types: vehicles, parts, world props and more. Better presentation and organization of content. A powerful search engine. Browsing and installation of content without the need to be in-game. Quick-sharing via urls. Ability to add more features as the need arises. So…
- Homebrew - Patent Unknown - Discord changes - 18 December 2019
Hey guys before we get into the new update, we would like to go over some changes we have in store for our Discord. We have been thinking about discord a lot, moderators included. With our heads joined we made a plan to make Discord even better than it already is. Our thoughts included streamlining chatter, reducing the gap between beta/vanilla, better event planning, and more. So lets take a look at the changes we want to make... For streamlining chatter we are combining several channels, thus reducing the total amount while also making Discord a lot easier to navigate. Each channel will then be much more suited to a purpose, and channels in general will be much less confusing. We will also update our rules to make them clearer and easier to understand We've also made changes to several roles and emojis, including a new opt-in role for the giveaways channel. Reducing the gap between va…
- What's up with Homebrew? - 8 November 2019
Hey guys, today we would like to talk about "what's up with Homebrew" and what has happened these past months. Some of you might think development has been halted, wich is understandable and partially true. We have been in a financial dip for some time now, luckily about 5 months ago an opportunity opened for a side project that we could work on to ensure we can keep doing what we love, which is continue our work on Homebrew. While it's a good thing to gain experience in other fields, trying to do both of these projects at the same time hasn’t gone well and we have had trouble focusing as a result. We feel that we have dropped the ball, and know that while there is no excuse for it, we can learn and still move forward. With all that said, we are ready to get back on the saddle and get things under control again. Now that our side project is almost ready for deployment, we can spend more…
