- Devlog: Farming Systems & Grids - 4 August 2026
Hello farmers!Thank you all so much for the outpouring of support. We’ve been hard at work building the best experience we can in Ashenridge! As a small team, we’ve pushed ourselves d to make some important aspects of our game feel as good as possible. One of them is, of course, farming! If you’re tuned in with our publisher, Blumhouse Games, you might have caught this lovely video of Grave Seasons that discusses some of our farming systems: We wanted to highlight some of the work that went into crafting our farming system, and to give you a tour of how it all works in Grave Seasons!Farming Tools We would be remiss not to first talk about the tools you have access to in Grave Seasons. After “moving in” to Ashenridge, you’ll find yourself carrying a shovel, a pickaxe, an axe, a watering can, and of course, your trusty crowbar. The majority of tools in Grave Seasons are used for farming. Yo…
- Devlog: Day & Night Cycle - 17 June 2026
DevLog: Days and Nights in AshenridgeWelcome back to our devlogs. This time around, we wanted to share our approach to the different times of day in Grave Seasons!Grave Seasons operates on a 24 hour schedule! Some of our favorite games have a hard line for when the player must get some rest. For us, with our goals of showcasing multiple facets of our town and its people, we didn’t want to create a hard stop during the night that would halt exploration. Some of the most ominous moments in Grave Seasons can happen in the dark, and we wanted to embrace the ominous tonal shift that comes with night falling around you as you stay out too late poking around in your neighbor’s stuff. The Purpose of TimeIn Grave Seasons, we wanted to explore the limits and benefits of a full 24 hour system. That meant even NPCs could wander at night alongside you. Late night drinking? Chilling out by the docks as…
- SGF 2026: Grave Seasons Preview — More Than Just Crops and Romance - 13 June 2026
When I first saw Grave Seasons last year, I walked away intrigued, but a little cautious since the idea of combining a cozy farming simulator with a murder mystery sounded fantastic. It sounds like a game right up my alley, but it’s also the kind of pitch that immediately raises questions about making sure the blending of the two was perfect. What I saw in 2025 focused heavily on the farming side of the experience, introducing the town, showing off crop management, teasing some of the darker themes beneath the surface, and ending on a monster attack to show you that this was a much more mature experience. It was enough to grab my attention, but I wasn’t entirely convinced yet. After finally getting some more hands-on time with Grave Seasons at Summer Game Fest , however, I’m starting to think the team at Perfect Garbage is onto something incredibly special. The biggest surprise wasn’t t…

- The Art of Grave Seasons - 16 October 2025
Happy Spooky Season, y’all! The Perfect Garbage crew is back with another behind-the-scenes devlog on the making of Grave Seasons! This time we’re diving into how we merge the cozy and the unsettling, all while working within the beautiful boundaries of isometric pixel art 🖤We caught up with Mima (Lead Pixel Artist), Elliott (Pixel Art Direction), Liz (Animation Lead), and Suvi (Art and Audio Direction), four fantastic members of our art team, to chat about how they’ve been shaping the world of Grave Seasons. You wouldn't expect something eerie happening in a nice little village with cute round chickens, you know? - MimaFun Fact: To capture the right kind of dread, the team was encouraged to submit the most upsetting moments they’ve ever experienced in horror media: movies, games, anything that truly stuck with them. Suvi bravely sorted through all the nightmare fuel, and we were left wi…

- Devlog: The Music of Grave Seasons - 10 September 2025
Howdy y'all! The Perfect Garbage team is stoked to share our very FIRST behind-the-scenes devlog on the making of Grave Seasons! We’re kicking things off with a look at our original soundtrack + an exclusive preview of four tracks! “We all come from different musical backgrounds. We’re all making farming sim music, but we’re making music that we like, and that’s what’s making this soundtrack special.” - SuviOur music crew is led by Art & Audio Director Suvi Savikko and Composer Gisula, two ridiculously talented artists shaping the game’s sound.“I'm a very visual person when I'm composing. Imagine this as a story structure, right? You have the climax of it there and you have to have your little ebbs and flows. If the song is big the whole time, then you don't really feel the impact.” - GisulaThe game’s Main Theme has been our meatiest and most difficult track to date. It was the very fir…

We are stoked to announce that Grave Seasons is launching in 2026 on PC and consoles! It's been a wonderful journey and we are so excited to share what we have been cooking up. This SGF, we had the chance to participate in the PC Gaming Showcase and show off our new gameplay trailer! If you've been following Grave Seasons, we hope you're excited for how much it's grown and shaped up over the year. Hinted on our steam but Grave Seasons takes the traditional mechanics you know and love in farming sims, and brings out the best (and worst) outcomes from them. This announcement also includes our new logo, designed by Charles Bae -- which features a little taste of the potential horrors we've got brewing. Supernatural killers, murder mysteries, the dangerous occult and a town that can't seem to let go...We also had the chance to share some behind the scenes work in the Women-Led Games Showcase!…
