  • The Marvellous Miss Take review - 27 January 2015

need to know What is it? A clicky stealth game about stealing art and avoiding burly guards. Price: $20 / 15 Release date: Out now Publisher: Rising Star Games Developer: Wonderstruck Reviewed on: Core i5-3570, 8GB RAM, GeForce GTX Titan Play it on: Core i5, 4GB RAM, any modern video card Multiplayer: None Copy protection: Steam Link: Official site The Marvellous Miss Take is an efficient, adept stealth game, and I appreciate how effectively it creates challenging situations from simple systems. Even so, in the past week I ve spent plodding through it I ve found it stressful more often than enjoyable. As one part of a trio of art thieves, the goal in each level is to slink through two floors of a gallery (viewed from above) stealing paintings and statues. Stealthiness is expressed simply: Guards have the genre s typical poor peripheral vision, and can only see what s in a blue triangle…

  • Update - Controller support added (and more!) - 16 December 2014

Hi again everyone! So, it's nearly Christmas… would you like a treat from Santa Take? Of course you would! There's a new updated version of the game up on Steam now, with some pretty interesting tweaks: Improved Mouse Control! In response to some of the reviews, we've made the mouse control more consistent regarding selection. Selection is now always on the ground plane (never on walls) and is displayed more clearly. This is more reliable and easier to understand, and should make the game play better with a mouse. Of course, if you're still not a fan of the M/K set up, we've also added… Full Controller Support! (PC only) You can now use a Steam-compatible controller to play the game as well! Here are the controls: A – Select/Interact B – Whistle RB/RT – Run LB/LT – Use gadget Left stick/D-Pad – Move around Right stick – Pan camera We hope you like this new way to play! Christmas Hats! (…

  • The Marvellous Miss Take Sneaks Onto Steam Next Week - 17 November 2014

It’s a bright and sunny day in London, which should be your first clue that something is amiss. You come home to find your home has been ransacked and a lifetime of collecting priceless works of art is now reduced to nothing but a memory. The only solution? Don a large and fabulous hat, walk confidently into your artwork’s new home and effortlessly grab armfuls of your belongings to a bouncy jazz soundtrack. Welcome to The Marvellous Miss Take , which sees the stylish Sophia Take trying to reclaim her collection of magnificent artwork from a number of central London art collectors. It’s clear it’s a game about thieves, as its November 20th release date has popped up out of the shadows and caught me completely by surprise. …

  • The Marvellous Miss Take is a slimmed-down heist game - 7 November 2014

Steal a glance at The Marvellous Miss Take, a streamlined, entirely mouse-driven stealth game. Your job is to think positionally; avoiding guards that will change patrol routes on the fly. There's no combat or take-downs, so distraction is key. Rather than crouching and hiding, you're meant to manipulate the guards to quickly slip past their patrols. It's an interesting take on the genre, and attractive and stylistic in its execution. Hopefully it's got enough tricks to sustain the system over the course of a campaign. The Marvellous Miss Take is due out on 20 November.
