• On Hiatus For Now - 22 June 2025

  They Yearn For The Mines was made in UE5 as my first commercial project swapping over to that engine from Unity but because of that it put together super super jankily as I didnt know better, I plan to rewrite and fix it all later this year so that i can do alot more alot better and cleaner, there is quite a large amount of things I want to do with it but the project is essentially held together with Duct Tape.You will not have to buy They Yearn For The Mines again I will just upload over this version when its done I appreciate everyone who has played and I hope to see some of you later in the year back playing the new version.\I hope everyone is having a terrific year!TheQuokkaBloke

• FLOODHOLLOW HAS RELEASED! - 19 March 2025

  I have just released Floodhollow Mine adding 30 Levels & 1 New Pickaxe (I will add 2 new Pickaxes and 2 new Safety helmets to it within the month) also im keeping it off the highscores for now as I am going to rearrange how the highscores page is shown so i can fit more mines in there! There will be no work done on They Yearn For The Mines apart from the 2 New Pickaxes and Safety Helmet releases for the next month as im doing a Month Long Game Jam, So I really hope Floodhollow can keep you occupied! Thank you for playing They Yearn For The Mines I appreciate you all I work quite slow but am slowly growing the game!

• Menu Changeup Test - 22 February 2025

  I Changed Shimmerglow Mine Menu to a cleaner look so I can add additional stuff tell me what you think? Sorry that we havent had too many updates ontop of being busy I took a tiny holiday but am cooking up some big things such as a new Trailer fully voiced and 10x funnier.   New Things - Goblin Voiced by Rowan Clarke currently has 17 different lines! - Options Menu (Can change music) - Did a ton of backend options for saving and editing sounds and just general optimising Thanks for sticking by They Yearn For The Mines I hope this can be a terrific year of Updates and Progress!!

• Completely Revamped Leaderboard Levels - 9 February 2025

  Leaderboard Levels have been Revamped to be more exciting instead of getting 1 point per minute played it now has a collect ore mechanic, I hope this makes the levels more exciting! I have had to reset the leaderboards due to this change and being able to get stuck on the side and ramp up your score so you had a false score i apologise. Thankyou for bringing this up to me though coulda had fudged scores everywhere and it also made me strive to make it funner! Happy Yearning!

• All 3 Mines Now Have A Leaderboard!!! - 3 February 2025

  I have added leaderboards to all 3 Mines you also now enter the levels by Clicking the buttons in Hiscores rather then that Mines tab it just seemed better, TODO - Finish Both Deepchasm & Mistshadow Challenge Levels, Im having a hard time figuring them out sorry its been abit but ive really been tryna figure out which way to go - Add a new Mine - Maybe add more Levels to previous mines OPTIONAL - I think Mistshadow and Deepchasm Hiscore levels are both pretty damn rough so ill have to think about instead of Minutes moving it to seconds however due to Steam Leaderboards it only allows 10 Uploads Per 10 Minutes per player. EVENTS - I am going to do a 50% off sale for 2 weeks to promote Hiscores dropping in all Mines. Hope your all doing terrific!

• LEADERBOARDS ARE FINALLY HERE!!!! - 30 January 2025

  I have had quite a few people ask or suggest that I add Leaderboards to add a somewhat Multiplayer aspect to They Yearn For The Mines. Today I released the first Leaderboards for the Shimmerglow Mine and will release the other 2 Mines Leaderboards soon. I know this also brings the possibility of cheaters and I will try my best to swiftly ban them if or when they appear on the Leaderboards. Sorry about slow development aswell I am a 1 person team and I have quite alot going on in life at the moment I appreciate everyone who has tried and continues to play They Yearn For The Mines! • Oremas Is Over & Im Back! - 18 January 2025

  - Ability to enter Holiday Mines So whats next now im back? Ive been asked a few times about making some sort of Multiplayer Functionality as this game hasnt been made to have online play I have decided on the next patch Planned for 24th January I will be dropping Steam Leaderboards and Leaderboard Mines this will allow you to get bragging rights if you hit the top of those boards! I currently plan to have a brand new mine and more cosmetics to be completed by the end of February and alot of squishing bugs and fixing up things to make it more streamlined for me to create more over the course of this year hopefully They Yearn For The Mines grows and I can keep expanding the game!   Hello All Quokka here, It was brought to my attention by a few players that they wanted to either listen to Music or listen to their Podcasts while playing They Yearn For The Minds so I have added the Ability to turn Sound On and Off by clicking the Sound Image in Main Menu. • LET THE YEARNING BEGIN! - 4 December 2024

  4th December 7PM AEST They Yearn For The Mines has finally released it has been quite abit of work and hopefully alot of Work and improvements in the future! I cant wait to hear all your feedbacks, suggestions and reviews to help me shape this game into something amazing! I hope you enjoy it there are bound to be some bugs and issues I am an indie dev but with your help locating I believe we can wipe them out :) I plan to Bug Fix and release the next 2 Mine Challenges each with 3 difficulties before 20th December which is the planned date to release the Christmas Mine event aswell as hopefully a roadmap for Q1 of next Year.
