The events of the game take place during the First World War. The main character is a soldier of the British Expeditionary Force fighting in northern France, who becomes a victim of a cunning plan and tries to escape a series of inexplicable events, attempting to understand what is really happening and to separate truth from lies. The protagonist must figure out how to survive in a game where he is merely a tool and peel back the veil of mystery surrounding what is actually going on.
