- Play Tombwater Now! - 31 March 2026
March 31st To whomever finds this note,Tombwater is the only town I’ve ever known. My childhood was mostly a good one with days spent running through the sagebrush and catching spiny lizards. But this town is sick now. The silver… the water… the mines… all of it built on top of something that should never have been disturbed. People I love knew that. And they kept digging anyway. Tombwater was made of good folk but, our sanity is crumbling faster than these mines. You can’t even trust your own thoughts. Now, I’m here for good and I’ll die fighting. There’s no other use for a fury like mine. Now, for you? You better ask yourself…why are you still digging deeper?I believe this will be my last account. Yours faithfully,

- Wild West soulslike Tombwater unveils full class lineup, from a Red Dead Redemption-style gunslinger to a hex-casting occultist - 22 January 2026
What would happen if you took Red Dead Redemption, made it top-down and 2D, infested it with eldritch horrors, and threw in some soulslike combat? Well, you'd get something not too dissimilar to Tombwater . We've had our eye on this intriguing and surprisingly deep Western game for a while, and while there's sadly no news to share on a firm release date just yet, solo developer Moth Atlas has got me salivating all over again by revealing all seven of its starting classes. - Cowboy soulslike Tombwater gets a release date, and its cursed town ain't big enough for both you and some horrific hombres - 3 September 2025
Yee-haw. Excuse me, I meant to say that wild west soulslike metroidvania Tombwater has walked into the saloon and ordered a release date. 'I'll have November 12th, 2025', it growled, while flashing its big iron at everyone in the watering hole to show it meant business. Originally roaming the plains of Itch.io , this funky-looking game comes from Max Mraz, developer of Ocean's Heart and Bloodborne tribute Yarntown , and Jake Wagner. The duo have trained their six-shooters on Steam, where you can already find a demo to check out. Read more

- Wild West Metroidvania reveals giant map worthy of Red Dead Redemption 2 - 11 July 2025
The Western soulslike Tombwater's Lovecraftian aspects were enough to intrigue me when it was first announced earlier this year, but now the developers have revealed the sheer size of the game, enough to rival the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2, and I am even more invested and impressed. Going one better, you can check out a piece for yourself on Steam for free now. Read the rest of the story... - Tombwater Map Reveal - 10 July 2025
Howdy gunslingers! The folks at GamesRadar+ just featured our map reveal, giving the first peek at nearly the full scope of the game. Honestly, we were having so much fun that we didn’t quite realize how big the map was growing as we were building! There are nearly 20 distinct biomes to progress through in a non-linear fashion, with a mix of areas you can explore at any time and others that you need to unlock by gaining an ability, procuring an item, or defeating a boss. At launch, Tombwater is estimated to take 20-25 hours of gameplay for completion. So, pack a canteen and some jerky and prepare to stay awhile! For context, the current demo explores the Spanish Fort, an experience that shares only 5% of this extensive playable map. Detailed Points of InterestCentral District includes:Tombwater Station, a historical landmark under the care of Amos Armijo, who somehow maintains a safe ha…
