- A Major Polishing Update for Nightmariners Is Coming - 2 July 2026
First of all, I’m sorry that the update has taken longer than expected.I’m a solo indie game developer working on Nightmariners, and I didn’t want this update to feel like just a few small additions. I want this to be an update that actually pushes the game forward and makes it feel better, smoother, and more impactful. To do that, there were a lot of things I had to learn, test, and properly rebuild. That’s why the process took longer than I expected. My goal is to move Nightmariners away from its current simple state and turn it into a fuller, more atmospheric, and more playable experience. What Has Been DoneI greatly improved the ship handling. Acceleration, deceleration, start-stop reactions, and turning now feel more natural.I made the ship’s visual movement on waves more controlled. I also made major changes to the ship movement system so players can stand more stable while walking…
- Upcoming Update: New Islands, Eye Patches and Combat System - 25 May 2026
About the Upcoming UpdateAhoy Night Mariners,I want to share some plans for the upcoming update. Some of the content mentioned here may change during development or be added to the game in a different way when the update is released. I will share more detailed information when the update goes live.New Islands and Cave VarietyI have started working on new islands and caves. My goal is to make caves feel less repetitive, with difficulty, dangers and encounters changing depending on the mission. One of the systems I am working on is cave auras that react to whether players make noise or stay quiet. You can think of this as a special rule or curse of the cave itself. In some caves, making too much noise may cause the lights to fade, the darkness to grow stronger and the environment to become more dangerous. With this system, I want caves to feel different not only as maps, but also through th…

- Upcoming Updates - 19 May 2026
About Upcoming UpdatesAhoy Night Mariners,I want to share some of the systems and content I’m planning to add to Nightmariners in the upcoming updates.First, I’m planning to improve the loot system in caves. Players will be able to collect loot and use it to improve themselves, their equipment, or their ship. For this, I will add a market system and an equipment system. For now, I’m planning to build the equipment system around eye patches. These equipment upgrades may include features like a lantern, speaker, and other useful tools. This way, equipment will not only be visual, but also affect gameplay.I’m also planning to add a combat system for the new creatures I want to bring into the game. I want players to have more options when they encounter creatures, and I want those encounters to feel more meaningful.Right now, players mostly travel to one type of island and return to one type…

- Upcoming Update: Island Travel, Routes and the New Cave System - 17 May 2026
Hello Night Mariners,I’m currently working on an update that I plan to release later today or within the next few hours. With this update, there will be some important changes and new systems added to the core flow of the game.First of all, instead of instantly teleporting between islands, players will now travel by ship. After selecting a mission, the destination island will be determined and a route will be created for players to follow. This should make the transition between missions feel more natural and more fitting for the atmosphere of the game.Since sea travel will now take longer, I’m also planning to add a few new interactions and mechanics to the ship so the journey feels more engaging. I’m currently testing a few different systems, and whichever ones feel the most stable and enjoyable will be added to the game.I have also added wind / booster areas on the sea to make sailin…

- NightMariners is Out Now! - 15 May 2026
Ahoy, NightMariners!I’m very happy to announce that NightMariners is now released. This is my first PC game, and it is also an indie project that I developed as a solo developer. I have been working on it for a long time, and I feel that I was able to create something very close to the game I had in mind. Of course, there are still things missing, but I will continue improving NightMariners after release and bring it closer to the version I truly want it to become. One of my favorite parts of the game is the procedural cave system. I wanted each mission to feel a little different, with caves that can create a new sense of exploration in every run. In future updates, I plan to expand this system with more variety, new cave themes, new dangers, and richer exploration areas. At the moment, the game is still simple in terms of content. However, with your feedback, I believe NightMariners can b…
- NightMariners! Release Date Announced - 13 May 2026
Ahoy, NightMariners!I’m happy to announce that NightMariners will be released on 15.05.2026.After the feedback I received from the older version of the game, I decided to rebuild NightMariners almost from the ground up by myself. This took longer than I expected, but I wanted to improve the core gameplay, atmosphere, controls, and overall feeling of the game as much as I could.NightMariners is a co-op horror adventure game set across dark seas, cursed islands, and dangerous caves. You and your crew sail to mysterious islands, enter deep caves by raft, recover lost Core Fragments, and try to bring them safely back to the ship. But once a fragment is taken, the island becomes more dangerous. Lights begin to fail, navigation becomes harder, and creatures start closing in.Compared to the older version, the game now has improved ship controls, more action, more creatures, better sound design…

- The state and the future of our game - 26 February 2025
Ahoy mateys! Today we will briefly discuss our the state and the future of the game. Another lesson learned As you may know, our demo release have been rocky at best. While we are aware that this is below sub optimal, we have some shameless excuses for this: We are a tiny, tiny team of two developers, with experience around 3 years, who are trying to make something that they want to make. We wanted to let the world know as soon as possible, and let the world play as soon as possible. It was an insane oversight on our part due to our lack of experience. This is the first time we ever create something for Steam, first time we ever made anything multiplayer. You may or may not consider these excuses to be valid, we respect your opinion. We are extremely sorry if your experience with our game was (or maybe still is) unpleasant. We promise that we will not leave the demo in a state like this…
