- The Ragdoll Physics Experiments Kickstarter Is Moving Forward! - 13 July 2026
Follow the Kickstarter and press “Notify me on launch”:https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gentleland/rmfs-ragdoll-physics-experimentsIt has been quite a while since we first created the Kickstarter pre-launch page for RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments, and the game has changed enormously since then.We now have a playable Steam demo, more than 12,000 wishlists, a growing Facility and a much clearer vision for the challenges, story and deeply questionable experiments that will make up the full game.We are now properly turning our attention back towards Kickstarter and preparing a milestone-focused campaign to help us continue development.Over the coming weeks, we will be expanding the Kickstarter page with much more information, including:• What the campaign will help us create • The development milestone we are working towards • Planned backer rewards • More footage and information fro…
- Just a small update v0.5.7a - 25 May 2026
Hello my beautiful test subjects!Just a small update this time with a few bug fixes, minor additions and one handy new feature. The main little change is that I’ve added a button to control the speed of the middle tube in the demo. A few people mentioned that waiting for it could feel a bit tedious, so now you can speed it up when needed rather than standing there silently judging my design choices.Very fair. I have judged them too.I also wanted to quickly mention something about the state of the game. RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments is still very much in alpha. It is not beta, it is not finished, and it is currently sitting at version 0.5.7 for a reason. The demo is available because I want people to be able to try it early, give feedback, break things, find weird behaviour, and help shape what the game becomes. That has always been a big part of this project. Loads of the changes, jok…
- Demo Update v0.5.7: New Rooms, Better Controls, More Ragdoll Nonsense - 19 May 2026
Hello test subjects,A new version of the RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments demo is now live on Steam. This is a big one. In fact, this is probably the largest update the demo has had so far. The previous public demo was v0.4.8, and this new version brings the demo up to v0.5.7, so there have been a lot of changes, improvements, fixes, experiments, accidents, and possibly one or two things that should not have passed facility safety inspection. The biggest change is that the mini sandbox has been removed and the ending of the demo updated and refined. The aim is to give a much better sense of what the final game is becoming: a strange, physics-driven facility full of challenge rooms, weird machines, hidden jokes, optional nonsense, and a suspiciously enthusiastic narrator. There has also been a major update to how Bluee feels to control. You can now switch between first-person and third-per…
- General Progress and Game Update... Update. - 26 April 2026
Hey hey hey, you lucky people!I hope you are all doing brilliantly. We’ve just got back from Debug Festival in Norwich, which marks the end of an incredible run of in-person shows. We got to meet so many amazing people, show off the game, and learn more from watching people play it than we ever could have done normally.Across our last three events, we gave away more than 200 of our 3D-printed RPX fidget spinners. Even better than that, we gained more wishlists than we could possibly have imagined, so thank you so much for that!I wanted to give you a quick update on where we are and what’s coming next.As mentioned in the previous update, we have a huge demo update coming in the next couple of weeks or so. And when I say huge, I mean massive. It’s packed with quality-of-life improvements, hints towards the story, bug fixes, updated dressing, and a completely redone final section. The sandb…
- Big Update on RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments - 20 March 2026
Hey everyone,I’ve just posted a new video with a pretty major update on the direction of RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments. It covers where the game is heading, what’s changing, why we’ve made that decision, and what it means for things like the demo, release plans, and the next steps from here.Rather than trying to cram all of that into a long post, I thought it made more sense to share the video directly here:Watch the update here: Thanks so much for all the support, feedback, wishlists, demo playthroughs, and general encouragement so far. It has genuinely helped shape the direction of the game.-Rory
- Dev Playthrough with the Devs: RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments - 23 February 2026
Rory and Steve play RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments with live dev commentary. Challenge rooms, sandbox chaos, behind the scenes stories, and what’s coming next. Don't forget to play the demo, and more importantly wishlist the game! :D
- We’re in Steam Next Fest! Play the Demo Now - 23 February 2026
Hey hey!!If you’ve had this on your wishlist or you’re just here because someone told you it has Stanley Parable vibes... or even because you saw a short with a bit of a banger in it, the demo is ready to play right now.And especially for this Next Fest we have unlocked the Facial Calibration Chamber. It's a completely pointless but fun feature that will be in the full game.If you enjoy it, please wishlist the full game and follow the page and even consider leaving a review on the demo page. It helps more than you’d think during Next Fest. And if something breaks, clips hilariously, or you discover an unintended “feature” tell us in the comments. We’re watching feedback closely this week. Also you can join our Discord and get involved with the development! I'm sure you have some awesome ideas... Right? Anyway, Discord is here: https://discord.gg/ebvH7dGBP2
- Demo Update v0.4.5 - 15 February 2026
This is a really small update but has quite a few things in it. There a bunch of new toast name submissions...Mostly minor fixes of things that have been highlighted from recent demo players. Thanks to all of those that reported issues. There are still more bits that will be improved. Join the discord to keep an eye on themAlso in this update, there are anumber of new subtitle languages. FrenchSpanishJapanesePirateKoreanNorwegianPortuguese BrazilianScottishLet me know if there are other ones that should be a priority. That's it for now.Cheers!
- Demo Update - 0.4.4a - 13 February 2026
Good news everyone! Here is another update for the demo. We have added a brand new menu! Now some of you will be relieved that the clipboard has gone. I'm sure some wont but it was a pain. Now we have a good old fasioned standard and nicely expandable menu. It's still in it's early stages and will be refined and grow but I think it's a good start! :)A nice feature is that it will ask you to confirm if you want to accept a new resolution change... Also, it's no longer press any key to begin so you can set your graphics settings before you start the gameHopefully that will help a few people out. Also also... We found a potential performance killer culprit so we are testing a few things with this version. Hopefully it should now not only perform much better on lower end hardware, but it should also have a fairly noticable difference on higher end hardware too!I just completed a run through o…
- Ragdoll Physics Experiments won Best Indie Game at Game Anglia Festival 2026 - 6 February 2026
Today was properly surreal. We exhibited RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments at Game Anglia Festival 2026, met loads of super talented students each on their own journeys into the world of game development. It was an honour to spend the day surrounded by so many people who genuinely love making games. The festival celebrates the East of England games scene and was hosted at the University of Suffolk. And then the awards happened… and RPX won Best Independent Game.Thank you to Game Anglia for putting on such a welcoming event, and to everyone who came over to play, give feedback, laugh at the chaos, and ask the kind of questions that make me want to sprint back to my dev cave and add even more stupid and unnecessary features.Huge congrats to the rest of the showcase lineup too. It was stacked. If you’ve been following along for a while, this one means a lot. We’re a tiny team, building someth…
- Demo Update - 0.4.2g - 3 February 2026
Welcome to the third update following the launch of the demo.Still prepping for Next Fest, we really wanted to get out some fixes and improvements for things we've spotted watching the amazing streamers playing the game. And there is still one huge huge update feature that is still to come so keep em peeled for that one.Version 0.4.2gThe VoF has a new shiney face!Added fun new animations to the splash intro sequence.Bowling ball room has had a maker over AND is now an actual challenge.Fixes issue in previous update that allowed you to speed up the intro more than you should.Newtons nonsense room has had another make over.Removed stairs gag due to timing issues. (if requested enough it will come back)Tweaked the hologram system for placing objects (still WIP).Moved remaining SFX into the volume handlers.Replaced many glass panelsA huge amount of visual dressing around the levels.Added pr…
- Demo Update - 0.4.1a - 29 January 2026
Yet another update following the launch of the demo. This is preparing us for Next Fest... Super exciting stuff! Anyway, the biggest thing is that we have fixed up the snapping so getting out of the first build room is now a million times less frustrating! There's also a ton of little tweaks and fixes here.Version 0.4.1aHuge update to the block snapping system - Ramps and Blocks now snap properly (also holding control will snap them to a world grid)Tweaks to splash intro sequence animationFixed some overlapping music zones.Added some cool new dressing to the Newtonian Nonsense Transfer ChamberAdded the facial calibration chamber - (locked until Next fest)Tweaked the experimental cannonAdded new exploding sheep gadget (experimental and very much WIP)Added new football propRemoved invisible blocker in the first roomAdjusted some things in the Bowling ball roomRefined Art room again.Fixed b…

- Ragdoll Physics Experiments won 1st place at The Very Big Indie Pitch! - 23 January 2026
We’ve got some properly lovely news to share…RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments just won 1st place at The Very Big Indie Pitch (PC + Console Edition) at Pocket Gamer Connects London! If you’ve never heard of The Very Big Indie Pitch, it’s basically a rapid-fire speed dating style setup where developers get five minutes at six tables to present their game and get grilled (politely) with questions and feedback from two judges at each table. It’s one of those events where you learn very quickly what’s landing, what’s confusing, and what people want more of.And the most amazing part of it all was that we won. With such strong competition we were very suprised but it just goes to show that there is clearly something special about a game that combines Stanley Parable with Garry's Mod and puts it in the Apperture Science labs. This was held at Pocket Gamer Connects in London and honestly, we had…
- Demo Hot Fix Update - 0.4.0a - 14 January 2026
Just a small update following the launch.Fixed issue where you could not exit first build room if you are haven't toggled off build mode.Fixed rare bug where graphics menu options could be changed even when the clipboard was not visible!Fixed gift boat collision - Apparently some people were not happy they couldn't sit in it properly.I'm sure the future ones will be more exciting!
- Demo coming tomorrow: the facility finally opens up! - 12 January 2026
Good news everyone!Tomorrow, the doors to the RMF testing facility finally open. The RMF's Ragdoll Physics Experiments demo goes live tomorrow, which means you are officially invited to enter a highly professional testing facility and immediately do something irresponsible with gravity.Expect a taste of the chaos, some guided experimentation, and the Voice of the Facility keeping notes on your behaviour like a disenfranchised and disappointed parent. If you want to help us out, please Wishlist the full game and hit Follow so you do not miss future updates. To get involved and help shape the game, join the Discord: https://discord.gg/ebvH7dGBP2See you in the game. And don't listen too much to the Voice of the Facility. He means well... Probably.Columbo moment: oh, and one more thing! If you fancy being an absolute legend: our Kickstarter pre-launch page is live here, and clicking “Notify on…
- Merry Christmas & Demo Coming Soon! - 25 December 2025
Merry Christmas everyone, and I hope you have a properly lovely New Year. 🎄Quick update from us at Giraffe Head Studios: the demo is coming very soon.We are in that final stretch of fixing the last minute bits and pieces, polishing rough edges, and doing the boring-but-necessary checks that stop things exploding in the wrong way.How the demo release will work The demo will first go live in an Advanced Preview state. That means it is fully playable, it is fully representative of the game, and it is absolutely most likely a thing you should try… but also, we will be actively improving as we head towards Early Access. So, expect updates, tweaks, and general “why did that ragdoll do that” adjustments.A note on bugs (Chaos is a Feature) Just trying to manage the expections here, rather than make excuses (honest guv...). There will still be some issues in the demo, and honestly, some of them…
- Playtesting closed | Demo launching very soon - 22 December 2025
Playtesting is now closedWe’ve officially closed sign-ups for the demo playtest.First and foremost, thank you to everyone who applied, played, broke things, and sent us feedback. The playtest has been incredibly valuable and has helped shape the demo into something we’re genuinely excited to put in front of everyone. To those who signed up but didn’t get selected, we’re really sorry about that. We had far more interest than we could reasonably handle at this stage. Please don’t despair though. The demo is about to go publicThe good news is that the demo itself is about to be released publicly and officially. Very soon, everyone will be able to download it directly from Steam and experience it for themselves, no sign-up required. This demo is the same core experience that was previously playtested, now refined, cleaned up, and prepared for a wider audience.Early Access playtesting is coming…

- Coming Soon on Kickstarter – Follow to Get Notified! - 22 May 2025
RMF’s Ragdoll Physics Experiments is gearing up for Kickstarter and you can help right now. We’ve just launched our Kickstarter pre-launch page, and if you’re even mildly entertained by ragdolls getting obliterated in the name of “science,” then we need you to do one simple thing: 👉 Click “Notify Me on Launch” here: 🔗 http://bit.ly/RPE-KickStarter This tiny action makes a huge difference. The more people who click it, the more visibility we get when the campaign begins. This in turn means more absurd machines, more flying limbs, and more upgrades that probably shouldn’t exist. It’s free. Takes two seconds. And it helps us make the weirdest physics sandbox possible. Also, if you want to catch up with the development progress you'll find the devlop here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B_9IwypJZA&list=PLJY_MWUWiOg-1Z9lsd-K4Xh_0j0SjKFOn We can't wait for you to be a part of this.
