Welcome once again to the weekly Development Log for Lionhearts, an up-and-coming project on Steam created using Unreal Engine 5.This week, we did the first large stress test for Lionhearts: Melee. Fortunately, no major optimization or performance concerns were found! A few outstanding bugs and issues were identified, and are already in the process of being fixed or have been fixed. Alongside this, the team made major progress and improvements to many other areas.Camera zooming has been vastly improved. We have also streamlined switching between normal, mouse lock, and tab target camera modes. Additionally, we made Push-to-Talk a toggle and added a HUD element to notify when you are unmuted and created a more reliable Loadout UI.Character-to-character collisions and combat hitboxes has been greatly improved. - Development Log #45 - 27 March 2026
Welcome once again to the weekly Development Log for Lionhearts, an up-and-coming project on Steam created using Unreal Engine 5. Lionhearts: Melee is closer than ever to being released to our Kickstarter Backers as we prep the final pieces of polish, optimization and cleanup for release. Firstly, NPC behavior has been improved. NPCs will no longer continue attacking an opponent once they are dead. NPCs now also move onto new targets if they are not targeting anyone. Bow combat has also been significantly polished. We have fixed arrow fire direction being affected by the player character. Hitboxes to allow for shield to block arrows - this has worsened hit boxes in relation to melee combat, so a new solution is needed. The bow crosshair has been polished and we also smoothed out the shrink animation when charging. Lastly for the bow, we've provided a color change feedback for when an ar…
- A Lionhearts: Melee Review by Pixelated Apollo! - 20 March 2026
This week we have something new in store for you all. Pixelated Apollo has requested to write a review in place of this week's Dev Log to tell you more about his experience getting an early access chance to play Lionhearts: Melee! After successfully launching a Kickstarter campaign for Lionhearts, Credenzio Studios has been hard at work bringing this ambitious historical medieval simulator to life. While diplomacy and the RPG elements of the game will be important, the big question is, how will the combat feel? Lionheart is set in the Crusades after all, and if the combat is wanting, everything else will fall flat. Well, the good news is that the upcoming playable demo "Lionhearts: Melee" releasing soon will focus on exactly that, combat. Credenzio Studios has graciously given me the opportunity to play the demo early, and after a few hours of trying it out, I wanted to share my honest o…

Some of these are quality of life, bug fixes as well as general improvements.Regarding combat, we have increased round time limit to 4 minutes from 3 to allow for longer duels. Tab targeting has been vastly improved and no longer slows down sprinting speed or stutters. Block defense regeneration speed has also been increased. We've also fixed issue where block regen would not reset to exactly 0 after a Guard Break. On the music and SFX front, the base volume of music tracks has been decreased to be more balanced. We also fixed weapon SFX not working for NPCs. Adjusting audio setti…
