We apologise for the launch issues on Steam with TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT and would like to reassure users that the game is now fully operational. It will relaunch on Steam today (22nd July, 2015) at 5pm BST/6pm CET/9am PST. The cause of the disruptions yesterday was due to a demo build being uploaded to Steam in error, rather than the full game build. This has now been rectified. SEGA would like to apologise to any users who experienced difficulties yesterday. We take full responsibility for those issues but would like to reiterate that the problem has now been resolved.

Update: Ho ho, actually it’s not on sale right now – it was quickly pulled as they initially released the wrong version, but it should return real soon. I can only see Tembo the Badass Elephant as a gritty, bandana-wearing replacement for Sonic the Hedgehog. Watching videos of the new platformer from Game Freak (yes, the Pok mon lot), something went wrong and that’s all I see the character as. The game isn’t quite Sonic, though Sega are publishing and the mammal does charge up and zoom around and spin and collect shiny floating golden doodads and occasionally go into a giant pinball machine – it’s a fightier, stompier, smashier affair. Update: The correct version of the game is now on Steam. I've just tested it, and it's working much better. Original story below. I was excited to try out Tembo The Badass Elephant this morning—a 2D sidescroller from the Pok mon developers is something I want to see, and the console version is getting some good reviews—but instead I've been giggling at how botched the Steam launch is. It's so botched that, the humor of it aside, I feel bad for Game Freak more than annoyed. The good news is that the problems might be easily fixed. Here's what happened: After installing Tembo on Steam, I got a 'missing executable' error, so I went to the forums to see if I was the only one. Nope. A poster in this thread discovered that the executable installed is named 'Trumbo.exe'—it turns out the game used to be called Trumbo. Maybe Sega changed it after outfielder Mark Trumbo was trad…
