Name: WadeOccupation: Athlete/American Football StarFavourite Vegetable/Fruit: Pineapple; packs in flavour and packs a punch when thrown.Sport is everything to Wade, specifically American Football. Wadeās story is that of a classic sports movie; the underdog rising to be the best there is, loved by all. Now he wants success in a new field! When the uniform is on, there is nothing that can stop him from getting the trophy.Big on drama, big on emotions, single minded, speaks in pronouncements.Gardening Tip: Some vegetables have better aerodynamics than others, they are the best ones.Development Lore: Wade the American football star. Another character with a slightly different build. He is more top heavy, with padded shoulders and a bigger torso. Greetings Gardeners!A very special announcement today, Planted! was featured during the 2026 Convergence Games Showcase.It was a great showcase all around and we're proud to be shown off amongst some incredible looking indie titles, but suffice to say, they saved the best till last. Rolly loves to dig, dig, dig, and see what he can find in the holes he creates, when he discovered gardening means burying things (seeds) he could barely contain his excitement! Following the competition Rolly knows he will have a belly full of delicious home grown vegetables.Wants to make friends, excitable, loyalGardening Tip: Woof, woofwoofwoof woofDevelopment Lore: Rolly was the first character that needed extra modelling. It took quite a few iterations to get the snout and mouth to fit with the style. We opted for upright floppy ears as, where possible, itās nice to have something on the top of the character that can react to physics. Pick a spot to start making some suitable soil and start growing (or pinch a spot in a rival garden).Once youāve dug a nice spot, youāll need something to plant. Grab a bag of seeds and start slamming those veggies into the ground! Wrestle your opponents for the sparse amounts of water around, and be sure to chuck the wateringā¦

Playtest last week, the funās not over yet though as weāve been nurturing a brand new demo in the background as well!To celebrate, check out the Brand New Trailer with some demo details followed by a sneak peak at what Planted has in store for its Single Player and Multiplayer modes.Demo Features:Seasoned Vegerans will feel right at home in the Planted Demo, weāll be heading back to the classic 1v1v1v1 allotment level, where the aim of the game is to grow (or steal) as much perfectly produced produce as possible and throw it into the back of a truck for points. The second level is a 2v2 co-op affair, where players will need to team up to lob legumes (and other miscellaneous fruit and veggies) into their opponents goal while utilizing special ability turrets and scarecrows to keep their own goal safe fromā¦

GREETINGS GARDENERS!Put on your wellies and grab your shovels; Plantedās first Public Playtest is heading to Steam!Thatās right! Following our little tease last week, weāre incredibly excited to be kicking off our very first playtest. This is our opportunity to get the game in front of players, test a couple of things, check a few theories ā but most importantly get feedback directly from players to make sure development is heading in the right direction.For this playtest weāll be getting stuck right into the heart of our MULTIPLAYER experience. Just to let you know, Plantedās multiplayer runs via peer-to-peer connections, so make sure youāre only hosting with a stable connection! - Meet the Gardeners #1: Gus! - 8 May 2026
Name: GusOccupation: FarmerFavourite Vegetable: Tomato (Gus has a selection of prized tomatoes he grows dearly!) Gus is your everyday, green fingered, farmer. His passion for vegetables is deep-rooted and thinks his fruit selection is one in a melon! Compared to other Planted! horticulturists, Gus uses patience, care, (an extra wee bit of fertiliser) and always takes his time to ensure his produce is the best of the batch. He takes pride in his work, as farming isnāt a hobby for Gus, itās his way of life. If Gus isnāt gardening, heās spending time reading gardening magazines or watching gardening programmes such as A Spade of the Seven Gardens and Plant Wars: The Mangolorian.Happy go lucky, Gus can be a bit oblivious to the world around him but he takes things in his stride.

š„Greetings Gardeners!š„ It's been just under a month since we opened up our greenhouse and unveiled our silly little horticultural combat game, Planted!. As our very first original game, please forgive us as we take a moment to say... cripes, what a start to our journey so far! There have been heaps of emotions now we're out in the wild. Screaming, crying, throwing up, you know, the usual when you first unveil a game. Planted! has been a sponge for all of our silly ideas over the past few years here at Cloth Cat Games, so to have folks already enjoying what we have has honestly been humbling. We've had a tonne of great feedback as well as some great interest in what we've got growing. To kick things off, just a week after our announcement, we were incredibly fortunate to be selected to showcase at London Games Festival's New Game Plus event as one of the Indie Selects 2026.
