Thank you to everyone who played the first playtest and sent feedback,a huge amount of what's below came directly from it.This update expands most of the map, adds difficulty settings, a new Underground Bunker area, a camera mechanic, four new languages, and a heavily reworked OS. A lot of older systems were rebuilt rather than patched.Please note: save files from the previous playtest are no longer compatible. You'll need to start a new run.New to METAMORPHOSIS?If this is your first time playing, you can now do it in xxxxx . Select it in the main menu before starting a new game.   I always try to keep an open mind when playing unfinished games and ones that are slow to start: even when it's just not clicking for me, I'm looking for how it could improve or what about it might be more to someone else's tastes. Then I'll play something like Metamorphosis, whose demo is available now on Steam , and it just smacks me in the mouth with how bracingly, shockingly excellent and unique it is. • 60000 Wishlists + Development update! - 22 January 2026

  Hello there! luXan here, sharing some news. First of all, we’ve reached the milestone of 60,000 wishlists! It’s such an incredible achievement, and it truly makes every hour of work worthwhile. ːsteamhappyːDevelopment of the content update continues, as I revisit existing areas from the demo and review what worked and what didn’t.Here are some new screenshots showing just a small section of what’s to come: (Concept art of updated warzone area)Updated enemies are also on the way, along with some brand new horrors that I’m sure you’ll hate, Here are some work in progress for some of them. (Concepting to final sprite) It’s not all terrible news for Aria though, this update will also brings a lot of bug fixes, new items, new OS features, and some changes to the dash mechanic.Save slots are also coming! Including more confessional booths, making backtracking between areas a bit less annoying…
