About this game
The sacred artifacts of the birdlike Torikee tribe have been stolen and stashed in dangerous dungeons, and you need to retrieve them! Rumors are spreading – dark forces are mobilizing at the direction of a wicked vulture named Kol, and the mystical Torikee artifacts are critical to achieving his evil goal. Three brave Torikee adventurers, Pebble, Mica, and Topaz, have set out on a long journey to dive into the deepest and darkest strongholds of the realm to retrieve their stolen relics and prevent widespread catastrophe. Flightless Fables is a roguelike adventure inspired by traditional dungeon crawling games but with a real-time, platforming edge. Dungeons are teeming with dangers and traps. Every gameplay moment is an exciting balance between speed and caution. Play as 3 unique Torikee adventurers: Pebble, the backpacker. He's sturdy, he can carry more items, and he can roll out of harm's way (with expert timing!). He's a skilled swordsman. Mica, the mage. She's light, she's witty, and she's attuned to magical wands that give her a mystical edge. Topaz, the rogue. He's so fast, some enemies won't see him coming. His weapon of choice is a nimble dagger. Once you choose your Torikee, dive into the first dungeon and begin your adventure. Dungeon layouts change with each attempt, so you always have to be careful before advancing. Seek out better weapons, identify mystery potions, cast spells, slay underworld enemies, and descend to new depths. Don't tarry too long, or else your Torikee will become hungry and take extra damage! Weapons have randomized attributes, so you'll always want to explore for something better. Spellcasting demands skilled timing and charge management. New spells can be discovered in the dungeon. Potions need to be identified between attempts, either by drinking them or throwing them on enemies. Enemies vary in size, strength, and behavior. Each enemy requires a unique strategic approach. At the end of each dungeon, a boss awaits to test your skill and preparation. These are the servants of Kol, so don't underestimate their power.
