Greetings to all survivors! We continue to actively work on Terra Trials and are ready to share our progress so far. This report covers the key systems and content already implemented in the current version of the game. This is not a final list, but a snapshot of what we've accomplished during the last development phase.🏗️ Building and the WorldImplemented an arena system — special zones with restrictions (e.g., for boss battles).Reworked back wall logic — walls now only place within the room perimeter; rooms have been converted to a tile-based system.Roofs are now functional blocks, not just decoration.Added new indestructible blocks for the boss arena.⚔️ Bosses and MobsThe first boss — Stone Crusher — is fully ready: model, animation, arena, and entrance portal.Added two variants of night mobs — ranged and melee.Fully implemented the Pyreling Microbiome — an underground ecosystem with…
- Terra Trials. The First Boss - 30 April 2026
👹 Bosses are an essential part of sandbox games. Besides providing entertainment, they serve to limit and guide the player's progress along the path envisioned by the developer. Bosses mark key milestones. After defeating a boss, the player receives an important resource or item that expands their capabilities for further exploration of the world. This could be, for example, a new ore used to craft a stronger pickaxe, allowing them to mine resources and blocks that were previously inaccessible. Or sometimes — access to previously locked areas or biomes, unlocked by changing the level layout (a wall, a secret passage) or by using special items (a gate pass, a ship ticket). 📜 To help the player clearly understand the progression logic, upon reaching a certain level, they are given subtle or direct hints in the form of a boss quest, or an item (like a compass) that helps them find the bo…
- Create, Customize, Transform: The Terra Trials Editor - 14 April 2026
With the release of Terra Trials, anyone who wants to bring something new into the game will be able to do so. The game will include an editor — a low-code layer on top of the game that allows you to create and configure various entities within your mod, as well as define dependencies between modifications.🪵For example, someone might want to create a “Completely Ordinary Club.” To do this, you create an item with the desired name and configure it based on another weapon, then add a bit of your own creativity: change the AttackTime property, which controls the delay between attacks in seconds, setting it to 1.5 seconds, and in the Damage property add physical damage with the nice-looking number 666. Since it’s a completely ordinary club, we’ll create a recipe with one component: 1 wooden stick.🎮Then you jump into the game and enjoy the “balance.”As developers, it wouldn’t be wise for u…

YouTube Short We liked the beetle-like Stabbers so much — the ones that fly on the surface and poke everyone with their sharpened stick — that we decided to add similar creatures underground as well. So, underground dwells a different species of Stabbers with atrophied wings. You can't really swing a stick in narrow tunnels, so they attack up close with their clawed paws. And the elder, the only one who still has wings, strikes with a massive staff. They are born, just like their surface relatives, from a giant hive. In the future, we plan to add a periodic ranged attack for them, like spitting. They will also be able to block passages with their webs, making it harder for enemies to move near the hive.

We're currently developing two active projects with seemingly similar mechanics and visuals — our beloved brainchild Craft the World and its younger sibling (or sister, if you will) — Terra Trials. It's time to finally figure out the similarities and differences between these two games. What do they have in common? 🤔 Let's start with the shared features. Both games use the same perspective — a vertical slice, the so-called "ant farm" view. The top part of each level usually features a blue sky or a virtual cave ceiling, taking up a small portion of the overall space, while below lie layers of earth for our characters to dig through. Craft the World Terra Trials The world structure in both games is made up of fairly large blocks, proportionate to the size of mobs. Gravity, precipitation, bodies of water, gradually growing trees — everything functions by similar rules. Our players will f…

Meet the most harmless mob in our game — the little snailie. 🐌 She’s constantly crawling along on some very important business of her own, forgetting that she carries some quite useful resources: slime… and even more… slime. Anyone can hurt a little snail. Luckily, they are everywhere. And even if you don’t see a snail, she’s definitely there, somewhere nearby. --- Follow our news to learn more about the world of Terra Trials!

Dev diary #11: The Technology Tree Let’s talk about crafting systems in sandbox games. Most titles in this genre rely on a recipe-based system: players find or buy recipes from NPCs, or they simply appear in the interface of various workstations. In more "hardcore" games, players are often forced to consult a Wiki just to figure out how to build what they need. We decided to take a different path, choosing a system more common in colony sims and strategy games: The Technology Tree. Why choose this approach? Sense of Scale: Players can immediately see the game's scope and their overall progress as they explore the tree's branches. Clear Direction: It’s easier to plan your development — knowing exactly which resources to gather, which mobs to hunt, and when to expand your base. Update Visibility: In a game under active development, players can see exactly what new technologies and items h…

Not everyone in the new world has to be aggressive! 🌿 It’s finally time for the harmless inhabitants to take the spotlight. This little birdy will run for its life the moment you get tired of your veggie diet. We’re still figuring out the purpose of that long, curved beak, but for now, it can be repurposed into a basic hunting bow 🏹. And you can grab some feathers for your arrows right on the spot! 🪶 Maybe in the future, you’ll be able to tame this creature to carry your extra gear, but that’s not for sure yet... 🤔 What would you name this birdy? 🚀 The Chomper is a dangerous subterranean predator with a hypertrophied jaw. It gives the impression that its body consists almost entirely of a head and a stomach. While it lacks speed, its grip is powerful enough to snap a sturdy tool handle when pouncing from an ambush. The show's viewers live for the moments when inexperienced contestants underestimate this "living trap." Should you manage to overcome one, your reward will be valuable fur and 3–4 kg of lean meat.

We’ve updated most of the screenshots on the game’s page to clearly demonstrate the progress of development.⛏ As part of improving visuals, we’ve reworked the world’s tile blocks — now resources are much easier to distinguish from one another. We’ve also added plant animations: they now react to the wind and shake when the character chops them down.⛏ New underground creatures — Crawlers — have been added to the game, complete with movement and attack animations. For flying creatures — the Piercers — we’ve added a new behavior: if they miss their attack, they get their spear stuck in the ground and struggle to pull it out, becoming especially vulnerable.⛏ Jumpers (Springlings) now have new variations: a more dangerous spiked version, as well as age (size) variants with subtle visual differences.⛏ We are also continuing to fine-tune the balance to ensure that stronger enemies don’t appear…

We’re continuing to expand the bestiary of our game! The surface world is already getting quite “crowded” — if you can call it that when talking about all sorts of creatures. So, it’s time to head underground.Meet the first being that won’t let you feel lonely in the dark caves — the Crawler. To free it from such trivial things as gravity, we decided it should move along the back wall itself. The Crawler isn’t particularly fast, but it can squeeze through almost anywhere. When attacking, it lashes out with its long tongue in every direction, so it’s best to fight it from a distance — or at least poke it and jump back quickly. We’re planning several variations of this creature, each growing stronger the deeper you go into the game — and as your character descends further into the depths of the planet.

We’ve already introduced one of the inhabitants of the game’s first forest biome. Now it’s time to learn a bit more about this creature. There are two types of Stabbers. Both species live in huge hives and are quite formidable opponents. Surface Stabbers can fly fairly well and patrol the area around their hive, while their underground counterparts, with atrophied wings, skillfully move and jump through winding tunnels below. When a hive of any type is attacked, several guards rush out to defend it, trying to destroy the intruder or at least drive them away. Surface Stabbers wield small spears with surprising precision, while underground ones use their clawed limbs — and, to make things worse, spit acid with deadly accuracy. Each underground hive has an elder who commands the entire swarm and can smash enemies with his staff. Stabber hives are valuable sources of resources such as chitin a…

So, friends — time for a snack! The local flora and fauna aren’t just for building things — they can also be, well… consumed. That’s right! We’ve designed various resources that serve as ingredients for all sorts of dishes. But food in our game isn’t only about looking tasty or restoring your HP. Our team came up with dozens of unusual effects that might occur after eating. Here are just a few ideas we might bring to life:👉 Temporary leprechaun money — though there’s a good chance the merchant will spot the trick. 👉 Puts enemies to sleep for a few seconds. 👉 Turns you into a garden gnome for a while. 👉 Failed invisibility potion — your clothes and weapons are still visible. 👉 Summons “bots” — encouraging comments from the show’s viewers. 👉 “Flashlight Eyes” — you literally shine in the dark. 👉 “Heavy Rear” — jumping on monsters deals damage. 👉 Buckwheat with chicken — attracts fi…
