You can use them across all four themes to make your rooftops feel even more personal and cozy. I hope you'll enjoy decorating with them. A big thank you to the talented artist SunnyBuns for creating these adorable plush models. I also wanted to share something a little more personal. - High Above Skylog Number 2: Birds, Rain, Sounds, and More - 26 May 2025
Hello everyone, It’s been a little while since my last dev update, so I wanted to share what I’ve been working on recently for High Above. A number of small, quiet changes have been coming together - little touches that help the game feel more alive, relaxing, and personal. Please keep in mind that many of these additions are still being tested and refined. Some things may change slightly as I polish them further. But with that said, here’s a look at what’s new! New Objects & Customization I’ve added a handful of new objects to help you shape your rooftop retreat in more unique ways. One of them is placeable rocks, which can now be added to your environment for an extra natural touch. I’ve also added two new chimneys and two lighthouses, I'm hoping to make the lighthouses even more versatile soon, allowing for decorative placement on them as well. There are now more roof materials and c…
- A Heartfelt Thank You - 1 May 2025
Hello everyone, We just wanted to take a quick moment to say - thank you. Since High Above was revealed during the Future Games Show, I’ve been overwhelmed by the excitement for the game. And here’s something amazing: I am happy to say that High Above passed over 10,000 wishlists on Steam! I’ve been quietly building High Above for a while now, crafting rooftops and peaceful corners of the sky. I also have more good news, I am currently working on a demo so you can try the game too. I am making High Above for you, so please share any feedback that you might have. And once it’s out, I hope it brings you a little bit of creative peace, too. Talk to you soon, Alex
- High Above Skylog Number 1: Testing The Japanese Theme - 8 April 2025
Hello everyone! I thought I’d share a little update on what I’ve been working on these past few weeks. Lately, I’ve been focusing on polishing High Above a bit more - tweaking things here and there, and slowly adding some new, more complex features to the game. As you probably know, in High Above you’ll be able to create your own little rooftop retreats, picking from different styles and building cozy spaces up in the clouds. Recently, I’ve been working on expanding one of those styles: a Japanese-inspired rooftop. My goal is to give you as many tools as possible to create something that feels personal and unique. So I’ve been adding things like decorative trims for walls, styled windows, new plants, and furniture pieces, little details that (hopefully!) help bring your rooftop to life. Here’s a small video to show you what I mean: And now I’d love to hear from you! 1. What do you think…
- Welcome to High Above - Where a Rooftop Escape Awaits - 20 March 2025
Hello everyone! My name is Alex, and I’m the solo developer working on High Above. Just a few moments ago, High Above was featured on the Future Games Show! As a fan of the showcase, I’m really happy and grateful for this opportunity. If you missed the show, you can watch the first High Above trailer right below. I wanted to create a small game that serves as both a relaxing escape and a creative tool. So here it is - my passion project: High Above, a rooftop-building game about finding peace in the skies. The idea behind this game is to let you create your own hideout on rooftops, high above the city's noise. You’ll be able to choose from different architectural styles - like Mediterranean, modern, Cuban, Japanese, and even post-apocalyptic themes. As you build and decorate your space, you'll see your rooftop come to life. A day-night cycle adds atmosphere, casting warm glows from lamp…
