- September Updates - New Demo! - 16 September 2025
Happy September! This month I've been working on a brand new demo build for Mari's Magical Deliveries, as the old one was lacking in a lot of the features and artwork for the final game.This new demo showcases the new character artwork, various GUI improvements, and most importantly......the delivery mechanics! They're finally able to be seen in the demo. While the current demo doesn't allow you to customize which packages you want to take, the full game will allow you to pick and choose which to deliver - and in turn, which love interests you'll want to spend time with.The map system also got an overhaul to be more readable.Thank you everyone who checked out the demo beforehand!Next week we'll be in the Fall in Love Romance Visual Novel Festival, a festival dedicated to romance-themed visual novels! August has been a busy month—the Kickstarter for Crimson Waves on the Emerald Sea: Amaranthine Moon is nearing the end and we’ve made a lot of progress across different games. Today I wanted to show some of that for Mari’s Magical Deliveries, a game jam proof of concept that we’re finishing this year.Make Deliveries to Fall in LoveIn Mari’s Magical Deliveries, you play as Mari, a college aged witch. The previous key arts all had Mari somewhat obscured, looking over the town, but the new key art shows her fully.The plot revolves around Mari helping her father’s delivery business. He now has a brand new sprite, to better match the rest of the cast.You’ll get to pick which deliveries you make, with 3 of the return customers being her love interests. Mari’s Magical Deliveries was a game demo released a couple of years ago for Ludum Dare, being a point-and-click otome game about a witch moving back home and reconnecting with 3 old friends. Since then, the game has been worked on in the background, with a new demo coming out…next week! This new demo will including some GUI improvements as well as new art, like the brand new character art for Castor, one of the three love interests. More character art improvements will be in the full release! There will also be a whole cast of side characters in the full game, such as these lovely girls, Kairina and Almyra! Kairina (left) is a part-time magician at the carnival while Almyra (right) is a vampire. Mari will make deliveries to the side characters, befriend them, and see how their lives intertwine with her love interests. The full game will also have a delivery system, where you start off…
