  • The importance of sound - 19 May 2026

Sound has always been a huge part of the experience we wanted Rumbral to create. Not in an overwhelming way, but through subtle details, quiet tension, low ambient tones, distant sounds, and moments where silence itself becomes part of the atmosphere. We wanted the audio to feel present without constantly demanding attention, something that slowly pulls you deeper into the world the longer you stay in it.Because of the darker and more minimalist tone of the game, there was a special focus on making the sound design feel cohesive with the environments and pacing. In many moments, what you hear is just as important as what you see.Rumbral is intentionally a compact experience, but we always wanted it to feel immersive and atmospheric from beginning to end. That’s also why we highly recommend playing it with headphones if you can.

  • What makes Rumbral different - 12 May 2026

Rumbral was never meant to be just a game about solving puzzles and moving forward. From the beginning, the idea was to create an experience where gameplay, atmosphere, and storytelling all felt connected. The core mechanic revolves around shifting between past and present through the magenta pools, changing one reality to affect the other and slowly understanding how both worlds relate to each other. At the same time, we wanted the world itself to carry a lot of the experience. There’s very little direct explanation, because a big part of the journey comes from observing, experimenting, and paying attention to small details, whether through the environment, the sound design, or the way spaces are built.Rumbral is also intentionally compact. Rather than stretching the experience unnecessarily, we focused on making every moment feel purposeful, atmospheric, and connected to the overall ton…

  • Not everything is obvious at first - 5 May 2026

Not everything is obvious at first. You step into a space, something doesn’t quite make sense, a path is blocked, a detail feels out of place. You try something, it doesn’t work, you look again, maybe notice something you didn’t see before. In Rumbral, progress isn’t about moving fast, it’s about understanding. You experiment, you fail, you come back with a different perspective, and little by little, the logic behind the world starts to reveal itself. It’s a slower process, but also a more rewarding one, because when things finally click, it’s not because the game told you what to do, it’s because you figured it out.If that kind of experience sounds interesting to you, you can try the demo or jump into the full game now.

  • Patch Notes v1.0.1 - 30 April 2026

Hi! Rumbral team here,We are very grateful for all the feedback we have received from you.We are working hard to improve Rumbral, and that is way we've released a quick patch that addresses some issues frequently mentioned in reviews and streams:Character feeling and controls:Character controls have been improved to make them more responsive; turning and jumping are now more precise and faster. Limited aerial rotation of the character to reduce the floaty feeling.A visual effect has also been added to the character's turning slide animation.Factory Level:We have noticed that many players get stucked on the deer chase section, so we have reduced slightly deer chasing speed and reduced some obstacle collisions in the way. Also deer searching time has been increased to give players a larger escape window. The dragging horns deer is now a bit easier to dodge, but could should still be challe…

  • Failing is part of it - 29 April 2026

Rumbral is built around a simple idea, you don’t always get it right the first time. You try something, it doesn’t work. You come back, look again, notice a detail you missed, or understand how one reality affects the other in a different way. Little by little, things start to make more sense.Failing here isn’t something to avoid, it’s part of the process. It’s how you learn the rules of the world, how you understand what can change, and how both timelines connect. And then, at some point, it clicks. Not because the game told you what to do, but because you figured it out.If that kind of experience sounds like something you’d enjoy, you can try the demo or jump into the full game.

  • Rumbral is out now - 22 April 2026

Rumbral is out now. What started as an idea, something small that slowly took shape over time, is finally in your hands. After months of work, decisions, and a lot of iteration, the game is ready to be experienced. At its core, it’s about exploring a world across two realities, understanding how they connect, and using that to move forward. Every system, every space, every detail has been built with that in mind, for you to explore it, experiment with it, and see how far you can push it.If you’ve been following the project, or waiting for this moment, this is it.You can play it now, and if you want to support the game, wishlisting it really helps us a lot.

  • Short sessions or long runs? - 21 April 2026

Some games are perfect for short sessions, you jump in, play for a bit, and move on. Others slowly pull you in, and before you notice, you’ve been there for much longer than you expected.Rumbral can sit somewhere in between. You can approach it in small moments, solving things step by step, or take your time, explore more carefully, and get deeper into how everything connects. It really depends on how you play, and how much you want to look beyond the obvious path. Are you the kind of player that says “just one more run” and keeps going? If you’re curious, the demo is available now, and if the game catches your attention, wishlisting it really helps us as we get closer to April 23.

  • Getting close to launch - 20 April 2026

Hey, dev team here. It’s a quiet, atmospheric experience, where you move forward by observing, experimenting, and understanding how both worlds connect. If you’re curious about how it plays, the demo is already available, and it’s a good way to get a feel for the world and its mechanics. And if the game catches your attention, wishlisting it really helps us going into launch.

  • Great weekend at Toledo Matsuri! - 15 April 2026

Last weekend we had the chance to showcase Rumbral at Toledo Matsuri, on April 11 and 12, and it was a really special experience for us!Seeing people sit down, try the game for the first time, and slowly understand how everything works is something that’s hard to describe. A lot of people got to play it, and the feedback we received was incredibly positive, which honestly means a lot at this stage. It was also great meeting other developers, sharing experiences, and just being surrounded by people who care about games as much as we do.Moments like this remind us why we started working on Rumbral in the first place. If you didn’t get a chance to try it there, the demo is available now, and you can already step into the world yourself.-The Rumbral team

  • First impressions - 9 April 2026

Hey, dev team here. We’re a small team building Rumbral, and right now there are two weeks until Rumbral release date.At this stage, feedback really matters. Not just big ideas, but small reactions, what catches your eye first, what feels interesting, or even what feels off.Sometimes it’s a visual detail, sometimes it’s how a moment plays out, or how a space makes you feel when you first see it.So we’ve been wondering, when you first come across Rumbral, what’s the thing that stands out to you the most? We’re reading everything, and it genuinely helps us shape the final experience.

  • How visuals guide you in Rumbral - 6 April 2026

Hey, dev team here. One thing we’ve cared about from the beginning is how the game feels visually, not just how it looks, but how it communicates with you.The contrast between both realities, the use of color (and sometimes the absence of it), and the way light leads your attention are all part of how you read the world. Instead of relying on UI or text, we try to guide you through what you see and how things are presented. It’s a more subtle approach, but when it works, you don’t need explanations, you just understand where to look and what might be important.Does visual clarity matter to you in puzzle games?

  • What defines Rumbral? - 1 April 2026

What defines Rumbral? It really comes down to a few core ideas that shape the whole experience. The first one is how puzzles work. You’re not just solving what’s in front of you, you’re moving between two versions of the same place, changing something in one reality and seeing the result in the other. Then there’s how the story is told. There’s no dialogue, no explanations, just the world itself and the collectables you pick up as you explore, trying to understand what happened and how everything connects. And finally, the atmosphere. A quiet, minimalist world, built to feel a bit unsettling, where light, color, and space guide you without needing words. If that sounds like your kind of experience, you can wishlist the game and try the demo to see how it feels.

  • Games that shaped Rumbral - 30 March 2026

If you’ve played games like INSIDE or LIMBO, some parts of Rumbral might feel familiar at first. The atmosphere, the pacing, that sense of something not being fully explained. But there’s a twist at the core of it. You’re not just moving forward, you’re moving between two versions of the same place, shifting between past and present to understand what’s happening and to find a way through.Something broken here might still exist there. A path that doesn’t make sense in one reality can suddenly open up in the other. You’re constantly switching, observing, and connecting both worlds. If that kind of experience sounds interesting to you, you can wishlist the game and try the demo to see how it feels in your hands.

  • Try the Rumbral Demo on Steam! - 28 March 2026

Rumbral is releasing in 4 weeks, April 23, and you can try the Demo its official release! In Rumbral, players move between two interconnected timelines using mysterious magenta pools. What is broken in the present may be intact in the past, and by shifting between both, you can uncover new paths and solve puzzles through cause and effect. The demo offers a first look at this core mechanic, along with the tone and atmosphere of the world. You will explore a quiet, decaying environment shaped by fog, light, and silence, where observation plays a key role in how you move forward.Rather than guiding the player with explicit instructions, Rumbral encourages you to experiment, observe, and understand how each timeline connects to the other. If you are curious about how the system works, or simply want to experience the world for yourself, you can try the demo now. We’d love to hear what you think…

  • A small team, building Rumbral! - 25 March 2026

Hey, dev team here! We’re a small group of people from Spain working on Rumbral, and for the past months we’ve been putting a lot of care into every detail, from how the world feels to how each puzzle connects across timelines. It’s been a long process, a lot of iteration, a lot of small decisions that hopefully add up to something meaningful when you play it.At this stage, even small things really help us. Trying the demo, sharing your thoughts, or simply adding the game to your wishlist makes a bigger difference than it might seem from the outside. If you have a minute, we’d really appreciate you taking a look at Rumbral and telling us what you think.— The Rumbral Team

  • Why the World of Rumbral Feels Oppressive - 11 March 2026

From the beginning, we wanted the world of Rumbral to feel heavy, quiet and slightly unsettling. Many of the environments are large, empty and surrounded by fog. Structures appear abandoned, broken or partially swallowed by nature. Instead of filling the world with constant action or noise, we chose to leave space for silence and stillness.Lighting also plays a big role. Most areas are built around cold tones and soft contrasts, creating a sense of distance and isolation. The fog helps unify the environment visually, but it also hides what lies beyond, making the world feel uncertain and mysterious.Scale is another important element. In many places, the character moves through spaces that feel much larger than they should be, reinforcing the feeling of vulnerability and solitude.Together, these elements shape the emotional atmosphere of the game. The goal isn’t just to build a place the…

  • The Language of Color - 4 March 2026

In Rumbral, color is not just an aesthetic decision. It is part of the language of the world. From the beginning, we chose to work with a restrained and minimal color palette. Most environments lean toward a nearly monochromatic range of tones, where nothing stands out too strongly on its own. Atmospheric fog helps blend shapes and surfaces together, making every element feel like part of the same world.Throughout the journey, the palette slowly evolves. Early areas are dominated by cold green tones, which gradually shift toward deeper blues and eventually subtle violet hues as the player progresses. These transitions are meant to reinforce the feeling of moving through a place that is quiet, distant and slightly unsettling. This restrained palette also serves another purpose: it creates a canvas.Because at certain moments, the world breaks that visual harmony. The strange magenta liquid t…

  • Fragments of a Lost Story - 25 February 2026

One of the quieter layers of Rumbral lives in the details. As you explore both timelines, you’ll find hidden relics and fragments scattered across the world. These collectibles aren’t just optional objects, they’re pieces of something that once made sense. Each fragment reveals part of a broken history, slowly helping you reconstruct the story that connects both realities. We didn’t want to explain everything directly. Instead, we chose to let the world speak through objects, environments, and subtle clues. The more you explore, the more the past begins to take shape. Some players will simply move forward. Others will stop, look around, and start connecting the pieces. And that’s where the story truly begins.— The Rumbral Team
