- The Slog continues! - 10 April 2026
It’s still coming!... albeit slowly. I’m still making headway on 1.1, but with everything I changed and added, I ended up biting off more than I realized. I needed to go back in and adjust and rewrite a lot more code than I first thought I would. :\\But it’s getting there! I'm working on fine tuning the enemies and bosses at the moment. I decided since I was going back over the whole thing, I should try to fix up the lore a bit too. Most likely, I will cut Frank Fowler out altogether, as he feels a bit too much like a cheap Jack Krauser. Instead, I’m turning The Wolfer-X into more of a standalone character: “Shiver/The Wolfer-X.”I'm not saying I’m making anything incredible here in terms of story, but I think it’ll jazz it up a bit! I'm also changing the first Zompire boss so he is a bit harder—plus, you might encounter him more than once now. I also had to take a quick detour to get an…
- Big update coming soon! - 24 February 2026
Preview of the upcoming 1.1 version! Here are some of the larger changes coming:new localization for english, Russian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese and Chinese simplifiedMassive Performance Boost: Much better area loading! I’ve got it running at a smooth 80–100 FPS during testing ATM, compared to the old build which usually ran at sub-20 FPS.Overhauled Inventory: Items and weapons now take up different amounts of space. For example, a lighter takes up much less room than a gun. you can still find pick ups to boost case size. better Map System: The whole world is now "rooms," so you can add to the map just by entering new areas. You won't have to "find" map regions anymore, though I think I’ll keep the physical map items in the game.Map Markers: I’m working on a marker system so you can place icons as reminders.New Gear: New weapons and outfits have been…
- 1.0 a go! - 30 January 2026
1.0 is now live! The Mines track by Fredrik RojasThis is by no means the end; I still have plenty of things I plan to add and adjust. The goal of Early Access was to gather feedback while working toward a version that was playable from start to finish. We’ve reached that goal! You all provided loads of great feedback, and we made it to the finish line thanks to you.For updates on fixes and additions, I post them hereIf you run into bugs, please post them hereI don’t want to give too much away, but I am currently working on a New Game+ mode. Once you start a second run, it will change or add new elements to the story! More new music will also be arriving in the coming weeks.Right now, I estimate a single playthrough will take anywhere from 7–12 hours. As more players complete the game, we’ll get a clearer idea of the average playtime. If you're speedrunning, you can likely clear it in und…
- Community Update: do we go full 2.5D folks? - 3 January 2026
I’ve been cookin' and I need to run it by all of you.My original concept for this game was a 2.5D game that could freely swap into a 3rd-person perspective. I even tested a few rooms in the current build where you could move along the Z-axis, but after testing, I cut them because it just didn't feel right. My initial goal was for the "Metroid-ish" exploration to feel like Super Metroid/Metroid Dread. A year ago, I didn't think I had the know-how to pull off a full 3D game—but I’ve learned lots while working on this game and I’m now confident I can make a full 3D shift work, and I think it could be good. Why the Switch? The original plan was to keep exploration in 2.5D and reserve 3rd-person for big boss fights to allow for better aiming and combat (think RE4 or Dark Souls). However, moving to full 3D offers other perks too:Hand-Drawn Feel: I’m still animating models by hand, so the game wi…
- new Button Mapping/Binding - 13 December 2025
Hi all! got some stuff in the new build *you can now fully map player controls, hopefully this will help for folks using KBM who want full control over their layouts :) all in menu controls have been switched to Control(A button)Alt(B button) Shift(X button) Spacebar(Y button) from what I read on the internets this is on of the most standard layouts, so hope that works for when you are in menus. if anyone has thoughts on this layout feel free to post in the comments.also added lots of on screen displays, pause menu has button details now.HUD has new icons for settings/pause menu been testing and fixing it all over the last 48 hours, I think it is mostly solidly working, but if you find jank & bugs let me know in the community*Bloom now turns off in settings and shop menu to match with pause menu.*added awesome new mines music to the mine areas thanks to the great Fredrik Rojas*fixed sma…
- Lots of new stuff! - 3 December 2025
*Merchant shops now will update/change based on what chapter you are on(not every chapter change triggers this)*added a bunch more achievementsfor any Super Metroid fans, there is now a "Save the Animals" achievement, I won't spoil it, but I will say it is acquired during the obligatory self-destruct sequence that is in all RE and Metroid games and thus must be in this game lol*made Fowler boss register damage correctly *you should now be able to complete the game. I still plan to add more changes into the ending part, but the rough-cut SHOULD be working lol *beating the game in 2 hours or under earns the S rank which will give you the Phaze-Brake gun & the Ada Wong costume when starting new game + (the outfit will be in the boat when you start new game +)Beating the game in 2.5hrs or under will earn the A rank which gives you just the Ada Wong outfit. regardless of your rank you can st…

getting very near to having a version of the game that can be fully played through! once it is "done" I will start adding in lots of extra stuff/make changes throughout and fix bugs as folks find them, but I just want to have a version the goes to the end first, then I can put the full focus on fine tuning. the last part will have one more big split choice event which I think will add to the fun/ overall replay value Thanks everyone for playing so far! as always feel free to post reviews or let friends know about the game every bit helpsmore soon -Ash

- Added some more stuff - 27 September 2025
added a new event which I was hoping to get in on launch day, but I ran out of time:I improved the look of the gas station and added a the new NPC "Janet" if you get to the gas station fast enough you can get the crescent key which gives you access to the crescent heights apartments. if you take too long to get there it instead runs a cutscene and you don't get the key. This is inspired by that classic RE2 zombie Brand game secret :)More changes:*added a few jump scare enemies * added a walk, if you press lightly while using an analog control you can walk/run, and then double tap to sprint*added "cozy sweater" costume item *new achievement added for getting the Crescent heights apartments key*changed first areas to load cleaner/faster and added lots of extra details to the backgrounds and foregrounds to help it have more depth.*options highlighter now shows for all languages.*fixed glit…

- First chunk of game coming Sep 25th - 15 September 2025
Here we gooooo! The first chunk of the game will be coming to early access on Sep 25th. Hopefully you'll all check it out and leave feedback. It is currently taking me around 2ish hours to test play through it, so there is a good amount of game/puzzles/enemies & bosses. but I definitely want to get people's feedback and then fine-tune the crap out of this section. Once that is done, I will add in the second half of the game. I am pretty far along with that half as well, but I think for the sake of getting feedback, it will be better to do it in two parts like this so I can focus in rather than getting feedback for the entire thing right out of the gate. some things about the build that's coming.I added a new area that is between the funicular and the Wolfer-X battle, an extra boss, and a puzzle. The split choice of fighting or not fighting the wolfer changes the path you take / NPCs you e…
- more new stuff added to demo - 22 August 2025
Hey all, along with some bug fixes added some new stuff to the demo (As always best to start with fresh file)*New NPC cut scene added into Plasmadine (following the rules of "first make it exist" I will try to get a better audio take soon, right now my voice acting is sub RE1 lol)*new Steve com link event added when you go up funicular for first time*New worm mini boss added*QuickTime music added (when split choices are running)*New Save Room music added *added new main menu screen*added Portuguese text to the intro, (just discovered that was missing the other day)*Bug Fixesshould be rolling into early access soon, I have a good chunk of game/bosses/puzzles beyond what the demo has now. more updates coming shortly :) as always please wishlist and follow -Ash
- Split Choices - 6 August 2025
Demo update! **as always I would advise starting a new game file in order to prevent bugs**Changes made in this version:*split Choices, just like it OG RE3 there are now points where you will get to make a choice between fighting a monster/running away/etc. depending on what you pick it will change the NPCs you meet and the items you might get. there are now 2 points in the demo where you must pick what to do.*the Wolfer-X battle as been added back in so you can now unlock that achievement and I also added a new hidden achievement* fixed up the shop somewhat, you can now navigate between menus with LR bumpers and also added more SFXs*small bug fixes *adjusting how areas load, so should have less lag on older steam decks / computers *toned down the blur effect when you get a skill notice almost have two more chapters done, I will be putting the game into early access very soon, then I wi…
- Small update - 15 July 2025
you will need to start a new game file for the in-game Achievements*bug fixes *Added weapon upgrading to the shop (I think the pricing is ok, but maybe folks have thoughts on if anything should be cheaper/more expensive, still fine tuning sounds/etc. but it is barebones usable ATM.*new options menu UI, much clearer now*added in-game achievements to the game, you can view them in the options menu and at the start of a file load they will try to call in the Steam Achievements, hoping this will get those to load for folks who were not able to get the Achievements before. The best way to test would be to burn a bush, if the Steam Achievement doesn't call, save your game then load that file. it tries to call 1 Achievement every 3 secs after a file is loaded, so I think it would check if you have the bush burning Achievement around 9-12ish secs after the file is loaded. I've tested a few time…
- Mega update! - 2 July 2025
Thanks everyone for playing over nextfest & leaving all the awesome feedback, just pushed a new version of the demo with a ton of stuff(I strongly advise starting a new game file, loading from a old file will likely cause bugs) NEW STUFF :*Boneheads have been overhauled, and now are more aggressive when you are in their area. when at a distance you can also shoot their knees to cause them to fall down & shoot their heads for chance at an insta kill. if you do the jump/slam attack it will stun them back depending on how near you are to them when you land (good for fighting a few at a time) you can also parry their attacks and then kick them, this is also good for taking on a few at a time cause Ransom's kick will send them all flying back in OG RE4 style :) *bone heads now have voices/yell things at you (a lot more fun I think)*RB is now a dodge/roll (good for quickly getting out of the…
- new update with bug fixes & improvements - 3 June 2025
Hi All, I have been getting tons of great feedback from folks in the community, thanks so much everyone for playing and giving input, it has been super helpful and feels nice to have people other than myself assessing the game. here is a list of some of the things I've added to the latest update NEW STUFF *New boss music added *jump now has more weight to it. *adjust jump attack so it doesn't go as high, so hopefully people can't cheat past the breaker puzzle. *if you are aiming you won't interact with objects if you press the action button. *you can now switch movement to D-pad, when on you can also use D-pad in the pause/options menu. *you can toggle tabs in the pause menu with shoulder buttons. *options screen now has "return to main menu" option *adjusted the climb up animation some and also adjusted the camera movement when pulling up so hopefully it looks slightly less janky, I wi…
- Auto Sprint added + more changes - 16 May 2025
hi all, more bug fixes and changes, trying to get the demo tightened up, if you find anything you think needs changing or adjusting please feel free to post in the comments NEW STUFF *when you aim at explosive barrels the now show their blast range so you can stand at a safe distance *you can now toggle auto sprint from the options menu, if on then Ransom will start sprinting automatically if you keep moving *Crank is now found in the Plasmadine office, you can no longer access the lighthouse in the first chapter/demo, I did this to tighten up both the main game and demo, and make the pacing better (hopefully). lighthouse + boss will now be in a later chapter and I am making the lighthouse much bigger/more complex *you can now activated what will be the waypoints / fast travel in the main game, you can't actually use them until later in the game tho, so you can just turn them on right n…

ABXY LB LT RB BT buttons can now be mapped (button mapping is in the options menu on the title screen or by pressing select when in game) *when you get larger guns like the shotgun or machine gun they can be seen on Ransom's back in game. * map regions can be found in the game, and when viewing the map from the pause screen areas now have names and you can zoom in and out on the map with LB RB. *general bug fixes typo fixes *files full text should show on all screens now *files names should show in pause menu now and as mentioned in the last post *Added drowning & air supply - now when you are under water you have an air meter and…
