- Before Closure Launches on May 15 - 23 April 2026
Hello everyone,We’re happy to share that Before Closure will officially launch on Steam on May 15, 2026.This has always been a small, intimate story about memory, sound, and the things we never quite learned how to say goodbye to. From the earliest prototype to the demo, the trailer, and the showcases along the way, we’ve been slowly building toward this moment — and now we’re finally ready to share the full experience with you.Just as importantly, the encouragement and support we received during our crowdfunding campaign gave us the momentum to keep going. Because of that support, we were able to complete the Epilogue Mode we had hoped to include, and bring Before Closure to you in the fuller form we always wanted. In Before Closure, you sort through a box of old belongings and step back into a relationship folded away by time, told through sound and blink-based interaction. If you playe…
- A Moment That Meant a Lot to Us - 21 March 2026
During development, Before Your Eyes was one of the reasons we believed this kind of interaction could tell stories differently.Recently, we received kind words from its creator after he tried our game — and it truly means a lot to our team. We’ve always wanted to explore how blinking, sound, and quiet moments can shape a different kind of narrative experience. With Before Closure, we’re simply trying to tell our own story, in our own way.Thank you for being here with us.— Team Before Closure
- DevLog#1: Eye Detection? What's That? (1) - 18 March 2026
OverviewEye detection plays a central role in the gameplay of Before Closure. With players’ real-life opening and closing of eyes driving the progression of the game, the system must respond intentionally to players’ actions. Incorrect detections could easily frustrate and negatively impact player experience and immersion, and we wanted to avoid that as much as possible due to how vulnerable Before Closure’s story and the mere nature of closing your eyes are. I’m Julia Wang—an Interaction Engineer on Before Closure. As an Interaction Engineer, most of my responsibilities revolve around designing, iterating, and building systems around the eye detection system. Today, I’ll be your guide as I break down some of the underlying technology behind Before Closure’s eye detection system and discuss some of the decisions and challenges we faced when building a reliable eye-driven interaction sys…
- Introducing the "Epilogue Mode" - 4 March 2026
Hi everyone!Today, we want to give you a first look at the new mode we are currently developing: "Epilogue Mode." Concept of "Epilogue Mode"🌿 This Mode is A New Beginning After the ClosureBefore Closure is a story about finally finding the strength to face the end of a relationship. But we felt that simply "deal with a box of an ex's belongings" shouldn't be where the journey stops. We believe every major ending is a gateway to a "new beginning."While the main story arc is now complete, we wanted to give every player a space for a fresh start after the curtains fall—and that’s how "Epilogue Mode" came to life.🏠 What is "Epilogue Mode"?Think of this as a White Noise Companion Mode set in the protagonist's new home after the main story concludes. It’s designed to be a peaceful space that stays with you long after the credits roll. How to Unlock: We currently plan to make this available o…
