- Chaos Coin in Party-Based RPG Fest - 14 September 2026
Hi, all! Today marks the start of Steam’s themed Party-Based RPG Fest 2026, and Chaos Coin is taking part! You can play the demo now! We'd love to hear your feedback! I’ve always loved party-based games with unique characters and skills to mix-and-match, and Chaos Coin is no exception. If you’ve tried the updated demo since Lynx was added, I’m sure you’ve already seen how swapping characters affects the types of strategies available, and there are even more fun combos waiting with the remaining characters when the game is released. Please enjoy browsing all the games on offer, and I hope you find a new favorite!More from 2 Left Thumbs...Looking for more Party-Based RPGs with strategic turn-based combat? I recommend checking out Decklings! Much like Chaos Coin, this game makes use of strategic positioning in combat, has a cute family friendly style, and features deckbuilding-like mechanics…

- Update Version 0.3.5 - Bug Bashing - 4 September 2026
Hi, all! I have a whole host of bug fixes in this update — primarily little things all over the game with no focus in particular, though it feels like there were a few big things since I made some major revisions behind-the-scenes in order to fix a lot of bugs at once. Most players have run into at least one of these, so the game on the whole should be a little clearer now. Also, the Seattle Indies Expo is this weekend! Chaos Coin and my previous game Monster Jaunt were both featured there in the past, and several indie gems like Slay the Spire and Peglin appeared back before they launched; maybe you’ll find the next big thing!Anyway, here’s a big ol’ list of changes:Attack animation timing improved for most coins. Some have additional brief pauses between effects for clarity.Stomp and Hail Pennies properly interact with other effects.Skunk Spray and Aim Penny no longer boost all hits of…
- Update Version 0.3.4 - Lynx! - 20 August 2026
Hi, all! Just in time for the Anthro Festival 2026, I have an exciting addition to the demo:You can now play as Lynx! They’re a berserker type who deals heavy damage but often targets randomly or self-debuffs, so they require more flexibility and planning to use effectively. (They’re also my favorite character to play.)Lynx is unlocked when you clear the second zone, and they’ll immediately unlock if you’ve done so already in a prior run. Pair them up with either Fox or Loon for two different playstyles! As always, please use the in-game feedback form for any issues or comments. And, if you return to the demo to try out Lynx, I’d love to hear what you think! Please be sure to drop a review if you haven't already!Patch notes:Lynx is now available after defeating the boss of the Curren Sea. Menu text is updated to reflect this.Fixed a bug where Jettison could appear as a Fox coin in runs aft…
- Patch Notes v0.3.3 - 13 August 2026
Putting out thorough patch notes like a real game dev! :) I already keep detailed notes on all the new changes, so I will start including more of them as separate patch notes so as to not bog down the announcement posts and we'll see how that goes. These are not going exhaustively list every change but should include all the important bits. Thanks for reading, and thanks for playing!Coin revisions:Starting coins are split; each character’s unique coin faces are on separate coins with one generic face on the reverse.Damage reduced: Hoplite G/X, Javelin G/X, Polearm S/X, Vault S/X, Catapult S/XHoplite S/X now gives Cover + Thorns to slot.Pin Down and Gale are now only available when playing as unlockable alt versions of the characters.Jettison effects reordered. The base effect is weaker and allows selecting any target, with G/X increasing movement range and S/X increasing damage but limit…
- Update (version 0.3.3) - Maps and Towns - 13 August 2026
Hi, all! I have an assortment of additions and changes coming in this new version.I’ve gotten a lot of feedback that the Town events are confusing or frustrating, so I’ve made some revisions and added a new section of the tutorial that will hopefully clear that up. I’ve also broken up the Market space into three separate map space types, which should result in more varied maps with more choices to make.If you’ve already played before, you might also notice a new addition to the character roster! Rat has been added and will be available in the main game. I’ve been doing some work recently on Rat and Snail in particular, and though you won’t be able to try them out in the demo, there might be something new for you in the demo soon…Again, please use the in-game feedback form if you find any issues. In particular, your save files should be automatically be converted for the Town event chang…
- Patch Notes (version 0.3.2) - Input remapping - 15 July 2026
Hi, all! I’m chugging along on some new coins for the main game, but in the meantime I’ve gotten some useful fixes and features that are now in the demo. The main thing is input remapping! While there aren’t too many buttons in Chaos Coin, having remapping will make it easier to play one-handed or handle non-standard controllers, as well as give more granular info on the shortcut buttons for high-speed players. As always, please use the in-game feedback form if you find any issues!Changes include:Added Controls menu to the settings with input remapping for all input actions. The remapping is saved with the global save data.Clearer indication of whose coins are whose. Highlighting an enemy now indicates which coin is theirs, and highlighting an enemy’s attack preview icon indicates both the unit and the coin. It’s not in use yet, but Spikes has been split into separate statuses for Spikes (…
- Patch Notes (version 0.3.1) - Penny revisions - 16 June 2026
Hi, all! Thanks to everyone who’s played the demo so far. I’ll be making some updates here and there with bug fixes and any content updates, so here’s the first of those. Changes include:Fixed a softlock bug involving an Impaired enemy getting KO’d by Spikes damage.Added reminder icons for more pennies.Added dynamic display of the effect of penny stacks in descriptions in fights and in rewards.Changed Anchor Penny to do more damage but to not be optional.Adjusted logging a little so that I can get some more info from any errors when a bug report is submitted in-game. (This still does not include any personal data.)Updated some music with newer mixes.
- Demo Out Now! - 4 June 2026
Hello, all! Nate here. Happy Pride Month! The public demo for Chaos Coin is available right now! Thanks to feedback from all the playtesters, things are shaping up to make for a really fun demo. Like I mentioned in the previous patch notes, the pace of runs has sped up considerably, with some higher risk but snappier fights along with more and more improvements to help you build and play your best coins. In this demo, you can play full runs using Fox + Loon with the first few Challenge modifier unlocks. The feedback form is still available in the demo version, so please let me know of any thoughts you have or issues you find. Also, all progress towards unlocks will transfer to the main game and to any future updates to the demo. One important note: This version 0.3.0 changes how the Challenge menu is presented so that there’s a more standard progression of unlocks for difficulty levels. If…
- Playtest during the Deckbuilders Fest - 3 May 2026
Hi, everyone! Nate here. The Steam Deckbuilders Fest is this week, and really, what is a coin but two cards back-to-back?Chaos Coin will be participating by opening up a public playtest! Make sure you’ve joined the playtest so that you can be the first to try it out.I’ve been grinding away at the bug mountain that always forms during development to polish up the first zone as much as possible, though there’s still quite a lot to do, given how many different interactions there can be between all the coins! Please make sure to use the feedback form in the pause menu to send me any suggestions or issues you find. Everything is fair game; tell me all your little UI nitpicks, which coins are way too strong, or whatever else you’d like.Any run that makes it to the end of this demo portion of the game will both count as a win and be playable in the full game, so your progress will carry over. P…
