  • A ship is safest in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are for. DevLog#6 - 2 September 2025

Hello, This is SavePoint. We've had an especially busy month. As we are conducting an offline playtest with 20 real users, we've been racing to finish everything we’ve built so far. Though we've worked hard, packaging everything up is revealing some unexpected issues.Still, our game has made great progress. Skills for tier 5 and 6 developers have been added (though still a bit rough), and effects for the furniture that helps developers are now implemented. It's a great stage for testing. Once we touch up the recipe window for automated combinations and tweak the level design to make the game more fun, we’ll be ready. We’re aiming for a busy game. We hope players can feel the hectic pace of game development, and experience its metaphors through our game.Thank you.

  • Easy Come, Easy Go. DevLog #5 - 11 August 2025

Hello, This is SavePoint on yet another fine day.We have been steadily making progress.DevLog ListAdded backend for the card system usable during defenseBackend to track the player’s current developer state for providing an auto-combination chartAdded skills and skill animations for Tier 6 developersRedesigned shop layout (as shown in the image above)New developer combination recipesAnd more+++This is a skill prototype for the “Dragon” character. We continue to work hard to bring out the game’s core fun. Once the game is complete, we hope to share it with players from various countries around the world! We will keep developing with the hope that one day people everywhere will enjoy playing our game.

  • The Sweetest Moment of the Day Lies in the Early Morning. DevLog#4 - 28 July 2025

Hello, This is SavePoint. This week, I’ve decided to take a break from the weekly devlog. I was just getting the hang of writing development diaries and thinking of trying to write more engaging entries by topic, but work is just too hectic right now. They say those who manage their time well are the ones who succeed, but I guess I’ll be the one who learns through failure.I’ll be back with development updates in the next DevLog.

  • While There’s Life, There’s Hope. DevLog#3 - 8 July 2025

Hello, This is SavePoint’s DevLog #3.As we develop our game, we want to discuss a different topic each time. Today’s topic comes from our experience applying to the SGM indie game support program.“How much should you show in a build?”Most developers want to show off everything they’ve made. But that’s not always the best approach. You might worry, “If I include all the highlights, will people just enjoy the best parts and lose interest in buying the full game?” Or, “This weapon is meant for the late game and is too strong—should I really show it in a one-hour demo?” This leads to two main approaches:Show as much as possible of what you’ve developedFocus on the actual game progression and help players concentrate on the intended experienceWe faced the same dilemma. We chose to show as much as possible, but realized that wasn’t ideal. Our tutorial became too long, and many players missed…

  • We Cannot Change the Direction of the Wind, But We Can Adjust the Sails - 24 June 2025

Hello, This is SavePoint. We wanted to write a fun announcement, but it didn’t quite work out. We thought about making a quiz, but with AI, all the answers would be too easy to find. We also considered puns, but couldn’t come up with jokes that would work in multiple languages, so we gave up. Instead, we’d like to share some behind-the-scenes stories from our development. We’ll go in reverse order, starting with the most recent events and working back to when we first started making games. Hopefully, by the time we talk about our very first game development experience, our current project will be finished and released!\Just yesterday, on June 23rd, we received the acceptance notice for the Smilegate Membership. Smilegate is the company behind the FPS game “Crossfire,” which was especially popular in China. They have a foundation that supports indie game developers, selecting teams each y…

  • The Days Are Getting Hotter, and Our Development Passion Is Rising - 9 June 2025

Hello, everyone who is interested in GOTY.We have registered GOTY on Steam in preparation for a grant application. Although it was initially just for show, surprisingly, a few users have wishlisted and checked out our game. Some even left comments on the community, saying they liked the game’s images. As developers, we are truly amazed by this interest—and deeply grateful. We have been busy lately creating a build for the grant program. We want to share it with those who are interested in our game, but the current build is not quite ready for release yet. From now on, we plan to make our Steam page more accessible and update various artworks. We will also post development logs at least once every two weeks to keep you updated on our progress. Since we are a team of three, there may be times when progress is slow due to various circumstances, but we believe it’s important to keep you inform…

Short description

"Indie game team of hardship and adversity. Make the best game ever!" You become the head of the indie game development team. Let's develop a game with the goal of GOTY, the best award in the game industry. Create a game through defense, run a team, and aim for the best award.

About this game

"A story of hardship and challenges for an indie game team. Create the ultimate game!" You become the leader of an indie game development team. Starting as a novice, you continue your journey until you win the prestigious GOTY award. In a defense-style gameplay, you combine developers and discover unique synergies. Compete against teams from various leagues and experience the life of a great game creator. Defense as a metaphor for game development Defense represents the process of creating a game. Once work begins, "ideas" that need to be turned into resources start pouring in. You must deploy developers to process these ideas. If your developers are too weak or the ideas are too strong, tasks will pile up on your workbench. If you can’t handle the workload, your project might be dropped. Upgrade developers continuously and turn ideas into game resources! Combine developers to create stronger ones! You can merge intern developers to create higher-grade ones. Each turn, new interns arrive, and you can combine them to form more powerful developers. Developers can be created based on synthesis rules, and the highest-grade developers have special synergies. Gather similar synergies to build your ultimate office setup and aim for masterpieces. Release games to earn user reviews and revenue! When you release a game, its quality determines user ratings and revenue. The score depends on how efficiently ideas were used during development. Don’t worry; you’re growing! The more games you release, the more fans your indie team will gain. Invest revenue into development or unlock new features! It’s time to reinvest. Use your earnings to educate developers or unlock permanent upgrades that aid development. You can also unlock new developers or furniture to enhance team synergy further. Earn money and create another game until you win the ultimate award! Game development is influenced by various factors. The office setup matters—developers, furniture, and team composition all play a role. Arrange developers and furniture strategically to maximize synergy. Use directive cards and furniture wisely to control the flow of development. Masterpieces are in your hands!

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

GOTY's USD price history spans from Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

GOTY's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Sep 22, 2026 through Sep 22, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records GOTY at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
