- MateEngine X3.3 - 19 January 2026
MateEngine X3.3 Avatar Walking on Desktop (Experimental) We heard your feedback and worked on it. Avatars can now move freely on your desktop. When an avatar is idle, it can walk on its own to the left or right. If the avatar is not idle (for example, dancing or playing another animation), it will not walk away. This feature is experimental and can be enabled in the Settings menu by scrolling all the way down. Known issue: the avatar can still walk while the Settings menu is open, so be careful.Window Sitting FixesFixed an issue where switching to a custom or DLC model and then back to the main Zome model could cause layering problems during window sitting.Adjusted the sitting Y height for certain animations to fit better on windows and the taskbar.Window Sitting NewAdded 1 new sitting animation.General FixesFixed an issue that could cause a RAM leak when switching to certain modded ava…
- New Updates Soon - 15 December 2025
Hello Silly Goobers! You may think, “Oh, there hasn’t been an update for a month.” Sometimes we humans need a vacation and a break from certain things in life, and that’s exactly what I did. The break is over, and I’ll soon be working on updates that mainly focus on fixing reported bugs. After those smaller bug-fix updates, I’ll introduce two new features I’ve been working on secretly in the background. I can’t wait to share them, and I thank you all for the bug reports, feature requests, and feedback.

We’ve fixed many bugs and added three major features and core changes to the app.You may have noticed a lot of recent updates. - MateEngine - Minecraft Integration! - 30 October 2025
Oh no! A zombie!Yes, you see that right — we’re bringing Minecraft into MateEngine! We’re developing both a Forge mod and a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.X.This integration enables cross-interaction between MateEngine and Minecraft: Java Edition. Right now, we’re building a system where your avatar warns you when certain mobs are nearby. We’ve all been there: a creeper sneaks up, and suddenly—boom—you’re gone. Not anymore. This time, your favorite avatar will help keep you safe during your Minecraft sessions, warning you whenever danger approaches. Soon!
- Developement News - Improved Sitting - 27 October 2025
Improved Taskbar and Window Sitting We are currently rewriting the sitting mechanics for taskbar and window sitting. This update will allow avatars to sit on windows and the taskbar in a more natural and visually appealing way. It uses special layering methods so that legs appear in front of a window while hair and other parts render behind it, creating a more realistic look.Developing this feature is challenging, as MateEngine is designed to stay lightweight and highly performant. While we cannot guarantee its final inclusion, we want to share what might be possible in the future. Our goal is to make it work for all custom models created by the community. The hardest part is ensuring compatibility with custom VRM and ME avatars, since their size and bone structures vary. We are actively researching solutions to address this remaining issue. In the meantime, we will continue delivering q…
