Duelling Skies is a strategy management game set in the early days of air combat in World War One. Take command of a new squadron of the Royal Flying Corps in a turn based campaign, then pit your pilots against the enemy in top down RTS style battles. Features: Manage and develop your base, pilots and aircraft in turn the based campaign. Send your pilots on varied missions over the front lines in RTS style dogfights against a varied mix of enemy aircraft. Unlock new aircraft and technology to keep pace with the rapidly advancing field of air combat. Customise your squadron with custom decals and colour schemes. Improve your reputation with high command to receive additional resources. Fail in your objectives and they may remove you from your post. Campaign The turn-based campaign follows the dawn and evolution of air combat from the makeshift designs of 1915, to some of the most advanced fighters of the Great War in 1918. Recruit pilots and shape them into a formidable fighting force. But, if you push your pilots too hard they could break in the heat of combat. Upgrade your base to improve your medical facilities and get wounded pilots back into the action. Through an extensive technology tree you can unlock base improvements, upgrades and new aircraft, including: Sopwith Camel Nieuport 11 Airco DH.2 SPAD VII And many more. Early war designs quickly become obsolete and are replaced with more powerful types. Field whatever aircraft you want to achieve your objectives. Complete the objectives given to you by high command for resource bonuses and additional aircraft. Battles The real time strategy battles cover a variety of mission types, from recon and patrols, to interception and bombing missions. Beginning with the Fokker scourge in 1915, your aircraft may be outclassed, but new types quickly become available to gain the advantage. The skill and experience of your pilots will affect their combat performance as they duel with enemy planes. You can field a wide variety of aircraft in each mission to take on enemy fighters, bombers, recon planes or even observation balloons in the skies over no man's land.
