  Unlocking game modes requires clearing previous game modes instead of earning enough trophies"Remix Modes" now has a fun blurbWe've noticed players struggling to progress to the later game modes, so we decided to overhaul the progression system entirely. Now, trophies aren't needed to progress and purely serve as a ranking system. You just need to clear the previous game mode (with or without earned trophies) to unlock the next one. We still encourage players to collect gems and go for those trophies, since this is when the game is at its best, but now it's entirely up to you on how much you want to challenge yourself.   - Updated boss music with enhanced melody- "Challenges" renamed to "Remix Modes" and is a different colorThe composer (Momentvm) enhanced the melody in the boss music when working on the OST mixes, so I requested for it to be included in the game since it sounds cool.I noticed that the "Challenges" button under the "Standard" game mode was easily overlooked, which isn't desirable since it's where the majority of ByteRogue's content is located. I am hoping that this button looks more important now.

• Full Release Details - 19 July 2025

  With ByteRogue's full release on July 24th coming soon, I would like to provide info on what this entails.The game will be launching on Windows, but it has been tested to work on Steam Deck through Proton (hopefully Valve verifies this at some point). If you have played the demo, your save file should carry over to the full version through Steam Cloud.The full release will feature 9 game modes, including the base Beginner and Standard modes as well as 7 challenge modes, each one remixing the rules in different ways to keep the experience fresh. The last challenge mode may provide a nice little surprise as well. ;)The game will be fully priced at $2.55 USD, but will have a launch discount. We'll also be selling a bundle that includes our previous game Earth Overclocked.Looking forward to releasing Chronicle Bench's first project in over 9 years! It's good to be back!

  I have noticed players struggling with the demo, so I decided to remedy this with a new mode to help ease in new players! Unfortunately, I also had to remove the Bomb Storage challenge mode from the demo to maintain its size. Sorry about that, but you'll be able to play it again in the full release! (If you played Bomb Storage already, its progress will carry over to the full version.)- NEW: Beginner Mode, which has reduced starting enemies, no bad crates, and an easier boss- Standard Mode requires a bronze trophy from Beginner Mode to unlock (stays unlocked if you already earned a trophy before this update)- Refresh Mode now requires 2 trophies to unlock- Removed Bomb Storage Mode from demo (Sorry, demo is getting too big!)- Locked game modes now show their names in the menu- Changed Refresh Mode's description to clarify the increased enemies

  ByteRogue is a new minimalist tactical roguelike where you loot a warehouse and cast spells to outsmart security robots.
