- Monthly Update August 2026: Light-bending and light-amplification - 31 August 2026
It's been a while but it's time for another monthly update. We're working on finishing the remaining mechanics set for the finalized biomes. This time we're focusing on the light bridge/laser biome. With lightbridges, the base light bridges already provided enough complexity for a decent amount of puzzles. A big limitation with them was their fixed/limited length. So we came up with a variety of puzzle elements that manipulate the length. One such element is the redirector. When a light bridge hits it, it emits that light bridge in other direction. This has interesting interactions such as horizontal folding turning into vertical height gain.Another interesting element is the amplifier, when a light bridge hits it, it shoots out light bridges from a larger area, This also has interesting interactions with perpendicular folding that we will not reveal here.Light bridges have a lot of inte…
- Monthly update July 2026: Updated demo & German support! - 4 July 2026
It's time for another monthly update! We've gotten a lot of feedback about the demo and some of the progression pain points and have updated the demo's level sequence. It also now has more levels(28)! We'll continue updating the demo and plan to keep it even after release. One of the big languages we've gotten requests for translations for is German. We're happy to announce that we've added German support for the demo! Thank you to the fan-translators for making this possible.Lastly, we're happy to announce that we've surpassed 10k+ wishlists. Thank you for your support!
- Monthly update May 2026: Thinky Direct, foreground-bending & Chinese support! - 23 May 2026
It's time for another monthly update! We've been working on a few graphical updates for our new trailer, which will be part of the Thinky Direct! We can't share too much about that yet. But as an example, we're working on a forest sub area with some newer parallax based effects. Previously the a parallax was only in the background layers but it can now affect the foreground with other side effects:You may also notice the updated tileset. The water biome will also be updated with a new tileset and a unique parallax effect for the biome. Keep an eye on the trailer.Additionally, we've added Chinese Language support to the demo. This was highly requested for a while and we're grateful to the fan translators who've made this possible.Lastly, gamepad support is implemented in-game and is in the playtesting phase! We expect it'll be released by May 28th, ahead of the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase.
- Monthly update April 2026: Cloth-bending & rebinding - 12 April 2026
It's time for another monthly update! We've been a bit busy working on a new trailer for the game. We can't share too much about that yet. But we have other updates too! We're working on a variety of visual updates for the trailer. The most notable among which is the foliage and cloths physics. While we're satisfied with the VFX for space folding, the game world didn't feel like it reacted to it. Now, grass and clothes(flags & banners) react to the folding motion which goes a long way in making the world feel tactile. We've also added translations for multiple new languages(French, Korean & Russian). We want to make the game playable by as many people as possible. As a small indie developer, we're extremely grateful to the fan translators who've helped us.Additionally, a common issue for supporting other regions was supporting keyboard layouts other than WASD. So we added key rebinding so…
- Monthly update March 2026: Endgame and relatively moving immovable platforms. - 7 March 2026
It's time for another monthly update! This time we'd like to talk about some of the endgame mechanics we've been working on.We've found a lot of cool interactions exploring fold immune elements. In particular, interesting things happen if you make an element fold immune and then remove that property.Toggling the fold immune property can cause relative movement. Normal blocks don't move explicitly but do move when the rest of the world is moved by folding. On the other hand, fold immune blocks truly don't move at all even when folding. But since the rest of the world still moves during a fold, they have relative movement. This is an example where a lever activates the fold immune property on a block. Normally, it's static and moves with the rest of the world during folds. When it's made fold immune by pressing the lever, it stays in place while the rest of the world moves. It's actual pos…
- Monthly update February 2026: More reality warping and sky-bending parallax. - 5 February 2026
We've shown the reality warping fold immune keys previously. We're exploring those properties with other mechanics as well.Even more reality warpingOne of the things we're trying is fold immune and normal element pairs that are chained to each other. When folding, one moves while the other doesn't. They still remain connected. So this allows transmitting electricity and other interactions. Here the right part of the circuit pair is fold immune but the left one isn't. You can fold to let the left section reach different parts of the level while the right connects to other things. This results in interesting situations as the circuit elements previously had to always be aligned to affect each other. We'll continue exploring this paired setup for other mechanics as well.Sky-bending ParallaxOne of the things we've always wanted to do was parallax backgrounds similar to other platformers. This…
- Monthly update January 2026: Light bridges and reality warping keys. - 4 January 2026
Happy new year! We're working on new mechanics and improvements to the game.First is the light bridge mechanic:We've shown this a bit last update. They are kind of like lasers but are solid enough to walk on. You may remember them from portal but they have quite a few tricks up their sleeve in this game! The other mechanic we are working on is an extension of the fold immune static blocks. Any level element can have the fold immunity property, which means they don't move when the rest of the level is folded. Here is an example with a lock and key puzzle that has this property. The key stays in the same position after folding and slides off the platform. The key can be used to unlock gates. It might seem impossible since there are two gates and only one key. But you can retrieve of the gate by folding and moving the gates away from the key. This particular puzzle was inspired by the unrewin…
- Monthly update December 2025: Progressive hint system and other updates - 7 December 2025
We've already posted about the demo updates but here's another monthly update with even more updates! We're working on several UX improvements, the first of which is the progressive hint system which is accessible in the current build: The hints are called visions in-game, They show a snapshot of the level in a step by step format for solving the puzzles. The player can compare each screenshot with the current state of the level to figure out what they should do next. There are several story-driven reasons for calling them visions instead of just hints. We will share more about the story in the future. Also, yes, that is a new mechanic in the image. We'll be posting more details about it soon. Our next priority for UX is Undo and Gamepad support. We're working on adding them and hope to post about them soon.Lastly, thank you for 5000 wishlists! As a small indie developer, this is a huge mil…
- Demo updated with localization support and UX improvements! - 29 November 2025
We've updated the demo with localization support and UX improvements.UX Improvements:We've received a lot of feedback about the cursor and we've updated the cursor to start from the tile the player starts dragging from. We also testing out an alternative cursor design which you can switch into in-game.Additionally, sometimes it was hard to determine when the player was blocking the space fold and how much of the level was foldable. UX wise, our next priority is undo and gamepad support and we'll update the build as soon as those are done.Language Support:The new demo currently supports Japanese, Spanish, Italian and Portugese. We're also working on Korean language support. The translations would not have been possible without fan support. If you'd like to help out with the localization, let us now.New Demo:The new demo is now available as part of the Indie Live Expo. It also features so…
- Monthly update November 2025: Tide-bending with the moon. - 1 November 2025
This month, we're working on additional mechanics for the water biome and some visual updates. We loved the water dungeon puzzles in Zelda but felt that it might be too boring to increase the water level from flicking a switch. So instead, you move the moon to change the water tide level. The water can submerge entire portions of the level. It can be helpful but be aware of electricity hazards! If you haven't noticed, the player can swim now, we're working on testing some underwater puzzles with the tide bending mechanic. It's bit late for Halloween, but we're adding some animations to the eldritch purple flowers that prevent folding. They now bloom and look at the cursor when the player is folding and they really don't like it when the you try to fold past them. We're also prototyping new mechanics for another biome. We'll reveal more about it once it's ready. And yes, you may expect fur…
- Monthly update October 2025: Water biome and other updates - 2 October 2025
As you might know, we've recently updated the demo with new water levels. We're currently polishing the water area visuals and advanced water mechanics. Here's a sneak peak into the water biome visuals:Keep in mind that this is work in progress and may be subject to change. We're testing several things with the water mechanics and we may need to tweak the visual style to accommodate everything. We won't reveal too much about the later water area mechanics to avoid spoiling puzzles. However, you can get a taste of the water mechanics in the new demo.Lastly, we'd like to thank everyone for reaching 4K+ wishlists. Thank you!
- New Demo with electrifying water levels released! - 16 September 2025
We've added new levels with the water and electricity mechanic in the demo! We hope that this will give you a taste of the puzzle potential of these mechanics in the full game(especially the last water level). If you've completed the previous levels, you can start from right from the new levels. Some additional improvements:Glitch line mechanic updated for less visual clutter Level sequence streamlinedFixed a bug that caused lag after folding due to zombie foliage from beyond the fold.Fixed an issue where folded elements would snap back to original position for a few frames after fold.
- Monthly update September 2025: Sparks are flying and... swimming? - 1 September 2025
This month, we've been working on fleshing out the water mechanic. Water can now conduct electricity and can activate switches and other things in the level. You might remember in the trailer, you could hotwire circuits by folding. This is an extension of that. This turns water into both a useful tool and a dangerous obstacle that can kill you. We're excited to share the new puzzle opportunities this opens up. You can expect a new demo build mid August.
- Monthly update August 2025: From space-bending to water-bending - 30 July 2025
We've been working steadily on new mechanics and puzzles after the demo. One of the new mechanics we're excited to share is the interactable water system! In the gif you can see the water being redirected by space folding to activate a waterwheel and open a gate. You'll be able to do a lot more with water in the full game and we can't wait to share more. We're planning to update the demo with a new selection of levels in September. On that note, in case you missed it, the demo has had 3 new levels since the last public update! If you've completed the previous levels, you can try them instantly! Lastly, we hit 3K+ wishlists recently and we'd like to thank all the players for helping us come so far! If you'd like to follow the game's development, you can wishlist to be notified when it's updated.
