- Steam Deck Verified, Text Speed Options, Bug Fixes, Guides, & Interviews! - 1 March 2023
It's been one month since 8-Bit Adventures 2 launched on Steam & GOG 🥳 Honestly, writing that feels a little surreal! Thank you so, so much to everyone who has supported the game in that time 🥰 While we're still working towards financial sustainability, the response from players and reviewers has been incredible. We've had 77 reviews from players on Steam so far, and achieved a Very Positive rating! This has really helped us a lot; I noticed that Steam started sharing the game a lot more when we initially hit Positive, and then again at Very Positive. So a massive thanks to everyone who's taken the time to share their thoughts! They've been a genuine joy to read 😊 And now, thanks to a new review from RPGFan (check it out by clicking on the link), we've also achieved an OpenCritic Rating of Mighty (the highest a game can receive), placing us near the top of their Best Video Games of 2…
- Thank You, Free DLC Tease, Steam Deck, & Trading Cards! - 4 February 2023
It's been a big week. 8-Bit Adventures 2 is finally out on Steam & GOG, and we've had an incredible outpouring of support from so many. I've been genuinely touched by the number of kind, considerate, and uplifting messages folks have sent me, and reading them has absolutely made the last 7 years of work feel worthwhile. Especially since my dear grandmother has had to go into a nursing home this past week, due to Alzheimer's, and that's taken a big emotional toll on my family and I (along with all the work involved). She was always one of my biggest supporters, and it's been a little sad to have finally reached the release of 8-Bit Adventures 2, but with her now unable to understand what I've done. So with that going on in the background, receiving your messages has been especially meaningful for me, and it's made me feel very appreciative of our community. From the bottom of my heart, t…

I am thrilled to announce that 8-Bit Adventures 2 will be featured at the Day of the Devs 10th Anniversary Celebration on November 5th! Day of the Devs is the ultimate indie event, and as a massive fan of Double Fine, Tim Schafer, and iam8bit, participating there has been a dream of mine for years. Find out more by clicking on the link or picture below: https://www.dayofthedevs.com/events/ If you’re able to attend the in-person event at the Midway in San Francisco, you’ll be able to check out a brand new section of the demo which allows you to freely explore the World Map in an Airship! Explore cities and dungeons, battle bosses, and just see what you run into. Lots of tweaks were made to avoid major spoilers, and the idea was to give attendees a sense of the game’s immense RPG world. Unfortunately I won't be attending the event myself (living in Australia as I do, there's a lot of trav…
- August 2022 Update - Filling Everyone In! - 10 August 2022
Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been so quiet this year, but thank you very much to everyone who’s checked in with me or offered their support =) I’ve spoken to a lot of you individually on Steam, Twitter, Discord, and so on, but I’ve refrained from doing a major update post because I’ve been waiting until I could announce a release date and start promoting the game’s launch. However, that hasn’t happened, and you all deserve an explanation as to why. So that’s what this update is for! First of all, the good news for anyone who hasn’t heard – 8-Bit Adventures 2 is complete. Every cutscene, every battle, every environment, all 100% finished, polished, and tested. I’ve played through the full game from beginning to end multiple times, and it will take players around 30-40 hours to complete – give or take, due to a wealth of optional content (including a Developer Room with behind-the-scenes info…
- 8-Bit Adventures 2 at Steam Next Fest Feb 2022! - 21 February 2022
I'm thrilled to announce that 8-Bit Adventures 2 is participating in Steam's latest Next Fest event - and to celebrate this, the 8-Bit Adventures 2 Demo has received a big update! What does it do? Let's dive in! For anyone who's already played the previous demo, this latest version features all of the same content. You can once again choose between playing through the game's Prologue, battling your way through an exciting Dungeon, and exploring a Town with a hidden boss battle. However, this latest update includes a TON of changes, fixes, and improvements. Simply put, this update makes the demo run and play like the final, release-level product! But how about some specifics? What's New in the Demo? A massive performance boost, bringing the game up to near rock-solid 60fps performance (this boost accounts for most of the increase in file size, in case anyone was curious!) Dozens and doze…
