• We played the most hated Warhammer games on Steam so you don't have to - 24 July 2017

  Sweet lord, I’ve played a lot of Warhammer for this feature. I’ve become the Bad Games Inquisitor, seeking out the average and the disappointing, passing judgement in the Emperor’s name. And I still feel there are some I’ve missed, concealed in the inky recesses of Steam, hidden like 6/10 heretics. Suffer not the mediocre tie-in to live.  It’s actually been difficult for the wrong reasons. Despite Warhammer games being released at the same rate as bolter rounds, it’s surprisingly difficult to find real stinkers on Steam. Maybe the standard is getting higher; maybe the truly shatto ones have been delisted. The sad downside is only I agreed to do this because a) money and b) I thought I’d get to play loads of middling, 7/10 fantasy games that I somehow missed first time around. But no.   Hello everyone! We just released an update with the following bugs fixes: - Fixed several bugs that didn't allow the player to continue. - Fixed collision, path-finding and streaming bugs in some levels. - Fixed Eyclone dialogues in chapter 3. - Added message confirming Player accepted to swap party members. - Making cutscenes animations more stable, falling animations were conflicting with cinematic ones. Although not mentioned in a previous announcement (we will do it from now on), we also fixed the following bugs in previous updates: - Added a dynamic light to all melee weapons that player can equip. - Fixed some progression bugs. - Improved audio balancing. - Removed some debug text. - Improved HUD feedback in adventure

• Abnett-Scripted Warhammer 40K Action-Adventure Eisenhorn: XENOS Out Now - 11 August 2016

  Time was I’d jump for joy at any Warhammer-related game announcement, but these days a fast-track to madness would be trying to name every 40K title that was released over the last couple of years. F’rinstance, this is my first time hearing of Eisenhorn: XENOS , a “fully 3D adventure game” based on the novel series of the same name by fondly-regarded ubiqui-scribe Dan Abnett. You play As Gregor Eisenhorn, one of the Empire of Man’s feared Inquisitors (Secret Judge Dredd but more so, basically) who has “agility, psychic powers and a selection of the Imperium s most iconic weaponry” on hand and is voiced by Kermodian chum Mark Strong. All of which, you may note, reveals very little about what kind of game this actually is, so I gunned it up to try and find out. …
