- I'm not saying Fallout 4 modding drama gets to people, but here's Breaking Benjamin's singer begging concertgoers to try his AI-assisted first person mod - 9 September 2026
In my experience, the few minutes a live band take between songs to recover a bit before plunging into the next riff are generally quite uneventful. At the most, you might get an amusing story about what they've been up to in your city prior to getting on stage, chatter about the song they're about to play, or some light comedy night-esque crowd work. Or, if you attended a recent gig American rockers Breaking Benjamin played in Holmdel, New Jersey, a four minute promo segment for a Fallout 4 mod made by a lead singer who's been left frustrated by some modding community drama. - I'm not saying Bethesda are trolling me specifically, but Fallout 4 and Skyrim updates are imminent just as I've modded up the latter for the first time in ages - 17 August 2026
Right, just a couple more location overhauls and there we go. A fresh Skyrim load order created for my first modded toe-dip into Tamriel for quite a while, outside of grabbing the odd article image. Phew, now to relax and sink another 50 hou-wait. Fallout 4 and Skyrim updates are inbound, say Bethesda? Well, that would be my luck, wouldn't it? Read more
- As unionised Microsoft workers rally against Bethesda layoffs, Fallout 4's been filled with protest signs and OneBGS logoed vault suits by modders - 15 July 2026
Today, July 15th, unionised Microsoft workers are set to hold a series of co-ordinated rallies outside the offices of Xbox-owned studios, in protest of the mass layoffs the company set in motion last week. According to the Communications Workers of America union (CWA), over 400 union-represented jobs across Bethesda Game Studios, ZeniMax, and id Software are being cut. In solidarity with the union marches, modders continue to fill Bethesda games with union logos. Skyrim was the first and Fallout 4 's the latest. Read more

- Skyrim now runs on Fallout 4's Pip-Boy and computer terminals, as modder delivers the one port Bethesda haven't thought of yet - 18 May 2026
It had to happen. After getting the original Fallout and Morrowind running as a holotape on Fallout 4 's Pip-Boy and terminals, the same modder has now made Skyrim playable within the game about a frozen snack finding their son and being nagged about settlements. I can only assume Fallout 4 becoming playable in Fallout 4 is mere days away. Read more

- Only a "skeletal crew" are left working on Fallout: London, and the massive mod's next DLC will miss a planned April release window - 25 March 2026
Around the turn of the new year, Fallout: London developers Team FOLON teased plans to drop the second of the brilliantly British Fallout 4 mod's second DLC in early 2026, assuming no hiccups got in the way of those plans. Sadly, it seems that's exactly what's happened, necessitating the "skeletal crew" still working on the mod to push Last Orders beyond a projected April release window. Read more

- Fallout 4 feels like a brand new game now that it's forcing me to take naps, drink plenty of water, and not save scum - 23 January 2026
Between the new season of the Fallout show , New Vegas' 15th birthday, Fallout 4's 10th anniversary, and our interview series celebrating all of the above (complete with print cover story! ), I've been in a bit of a Fallout mood. I smashed through Fallout 3 in a week and change over Christmas, I'm getting asymptotically close to the end of a New Vegas run I started in November, and I've put a humiliating number of hours (28.2, according to Steam) into Fallout 4 in just the past five days... - Nexus Mods' latest modathon isn't a typical modathon, it's a first go at the same for multi-mod collections - 22 January 2026
With their latest Fallout modathon having wrapped up at the close of last year, mod-hosting site Nexus Mods have decided to try something new with their latest event designed to supercharge mod creation around a specific game or theme. Rather than asking folks to submit fresh individual mods like usual, the modathon that's about to kick off is all about putting together chunky multi-mod lists which can overhaul a game in one fell swoop. These user-assembled modlists, dubbed Collections, are a feature Nexus Mods have been pushing for a number of years now, so it's not surprising they're now serving as the subject of a modathon for the first time. - Ex Bethesda dev would like to see Fallout 5 in New Orleans, and fewer airships in the Amazon show - 12 January 2026
There's something electric about New Orleans. I first fell in love with the city when I was watching The Vampire Diaries' spinoff show The Originals (I can hear the judgement from here). In many ways, it feels like its own world, oozing style to the sound of smooth jazz; a place where anything is possible. We've seen that mysticism explored in shows like American Horror Story: Coven and videogames like the recent South of Midnight. Ex-Bethesda artist Nathan Purkeypile, who worked on Fallout 3 and 4 before becoming lead artist on 76, feels that same allure and wants to see the RPG series head to the Deep South. - I thought I was crazy for thinking Fallout 4 feels like a perfectly crisp fall day, but that's exactly what Bethesda was aiming for after a 'field trip' to a national park: 'I was like, this is what our world needs to look like' - 6 January 2026
Fallout 4 is a much more cheerful game than its immediate numbered predecessor. In contrast with the grime, slick gore, and green tint of the Capital Wasteland, the Commonwealth is bright and vibrant—it's the sort of place where you wouldn't mind putting down roots and founding a settlement or ten... - Fallout 4's lead designer reckons it is the 'most replayable' game in the series thanks to its interweaving quests, which I'm sure will go down swimmingly with New Vegas sickos - 23 December 2025
I've thought about Fallout 4 in a lot of different ways since first playing it ten years ago. On its release, I thought it was the weakest Fallout game, lacking the roleplaying depth of its forebears. But a recent replay helped me see its strengths as a survivalist shooter. There's a lot to love about its depiction of post-nuclear Boston if you're willing to overlook the fact that you solve most problems with a gun... Read more.
