• Price reduction! You spoke, we listened :) - 6 January 2026

  Hey jet packers! Feedback from the wider SHMUP community was that the original price of Zaxtron EXPLUS was a little out of players regular gaming budgets... so I've halved it! This price reduction does not effect any of the updates I have planned for the game, but is designed to increase the player base and get more eyes on experience. One love xxxoRUOKo

• VERSION 3.0 MASSIVE UPDATE! - 24 November 2025

  Hello jet packers! I'm really excited to announce that the latest major patch is now live. I have tried to clean up the games interface, making menus and options more readable. The main game has had a good polish and I've balanced several areas for a better player experience.But the BIG NEWS is that the game now has a built in ARCADE featuring three mini games! Space Monsters is still alive and kicking with small balancing changes. D.O.M.E. is a single button SHMUP (yes that's right you only need one button) that is explosively action packed! Then there is GEOMETRY SIEGE 2099 a challenging danmaku style experience with unique bullet patterns. Face off against 6 invading angels and put them in their place!Thank you for all the support on this project so far. I have more ideas for free new content so watch this space!!RUOK xx

• 99 HP Update! - 26 October 2025

  Hey my dudes!I'm busy working on implementing more mini games and special 1980s style arcade interface for them, but prior to that update I wanted to give players more of a chance to learn the game. With that in mind, you now have the option to have 99HP in Normal Mode!! You can still do Normal Mode without the increase in HP, but I hope this gives players that are getting killed early to get the whole game experience without getting killed off early :) To get these lives, simply start the game in Normal Mode and once you get to the instructions screen select YES! You'll then have 99HP when starting game!If you want the original Normal Mode experience and the challenge of beating the game with limited lives, simply select NO! More updates coming soon! • HOTFIX 3! - 11 October 2025

  Hey my dudes! 2 biggish changes with this hot fix! Players pointed out that the drone enemies on the Military Base level were quite odd and appeared out of no where, so I've addressed this by added a new large drone enemy that spawns the mini drones. The little mini drones are destructible and will stop spawning when you kill the mommy drone :) The second big change in this hot fix is the addition of Z Medals that can be collected to increase your super bar. In the previous version you only got these from killing the bigger enemies, but in order to give players more access to the super shot I've sprinkled them around every level. This adds another little meta-challenge to see if you can collect them all for max score

• HOTFIX 2! - 7 October 2025

  Hey friendos! I'm listening intently to player feedback, so here is another little hotfix with more quality of life improvements...Helped out pad players by adjusting the default stick dead zone and sensitivity.Player hitbox at some points a little hard to see. Added an additional red glow:In normal mode, I added an instruction screen:Volcano King projectiles were a little hard to see on the background, so I added a white outline for better contrast:Hope you are enjoying the experience! • HOT FIX - Space Monsters Mini Game & Title Screen Scrolling - 6 October 2025

  Just two little hot fixes :) - A player reported they got stuck on the Space Monsters Mini Game, so hopefully I've fixed that - Another player (rightly) reported that the scrolling background on the title screen was not pleasant to look at, so I've made it static. Here are all of the changes made to this quality of life update...Player and Weapon changes:- Continues increased 2 -> 3- DNO Shot secondary sweep speed increased- STAR Shot damage increased 7 -> 8 per unit- Secondary hitbox for item collection and boundary implementedItem changes:- Super Shot item is now a distinct Z- Points item is now a £/$ iconBoss changes:- Background of Tank King boss now static- Slow down on Squid Kind boss addressed (hopefully fixed)UI changes:- Control settings adjust to reflect actions- Super Bar moved to top left of play area - Names of medals and other headers changedEnemy changes:- Grounded enemies now do not damage the player- Drone Enemies adjusted in Military BaseMore to come!

• DAY ONE PATCH (woops) - 3 October 2025

  Nothing like a day one patch! I had left in some test items on HARD MODE so I removed those. If you find any other bugs or quirks let me know, I am also happy to make gameplay changes if you find anything troubling :D
