- Steam Deck compatibility: 100% (albeit not Valve-verified yet)! - 4 September 2026
Since Valve hasn't reviewed ExploJudo yet, I'll happily report that the game is 100% Steam Deck and Ubuntu compatible out of the box, exactly like Schwarzerblitz. There are no known Steam Deck/Linux bugs except a shader issue that has happened to a very limited number of players and whose solution is detailed here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3806150/discussions/0/845114412531600960/ So, get ready to explode people on Steam Deck too and let me know how it goes!!!
- Lunatic Eyes Update?! - 11 July 2026
> What's up, meatbags? It's me again, I.N.A.B.A.! You should come back to the game now that I have a new cute outfit.> It's totally absolutely not inspired by one of my namesakes, OH NO!> You know what I.N.A.B.A. stands for, and that's NOT that, but apparently there is another Moon rabbit that likes PEW PEW FINGER GUNS, one with lunatic eyes - as far as I was told.> So, enjoy the update, meatsacks, and cheer for me over Nanami (who sucks and is not my oilmate!), otherwise I will \

- [BUG FIX] Achievement "Exploding Judo Enthusiast" not triggering properly - 9 May 2026

- [Bug Fix] Fixed unintended hitbox interactions in Apple's and Dana's movesets - 26 April 2026
Apple's 5K 2K string (Bachata -> Ragtime) had an issue where the hitbox of 2K would disappear prematurely, thus preventing the move from hitting at all and making his moveset tutorial impossible to clear. This has been fixed. Dana's 2P 2K 2P string had more frame advantage than actually shown, allowing for a 2P link that wasn't intended. 2P 2K 2P is now +5 on hit as advertised by the frame viewer.
- [Bug Fix] Fixed unintended backturned reactions on Dana's pokes - 25 April 2026
There was a bug that made Dana's 2P, 5K and 5P have an unintended extended hitstun when hitting a backturned opponent. The bug has been fixed Dana Zane's 5PP Piano Woman: extended forward movement on the third slap to prevent the string from dropping on counter hit
- [Bug Fix] Achievement "Sleeping Shark Rhapsody" triggered by mistake - 25 April 2026
There was a wrong check in the achievement code for the "watch all arcade endings" achievement. This has now been fixed to trigger only when all arcade endings are legitimately completed.

- Color Preview is now available in the Character Selection screen - 6 December 2025
Guilty as charged - at launch, ExploJudo did not have a way to easily preview a character color without selecting them and seeing it during a match. Well, it was high time I fixed this.As of December 6, 2025, all characters and costumes in Exploding Judo Federation have color previews in character selection screen, which allows you to see exactly what you are choosing - no more having to remember your favorite color number or stumbling upon bad surprises. It took longer than I wanted, but better late than never!Oh, and you can look forward to one new costume per character, coming early 2026!Here's a sneak peek at the first two!

What's up, explding judokas?! A new update is up with a tiny bit of new content and some fixes:Revision SelectSmall balance changes, ahead of v1.1 release (more later)Revision SelectEver mourned the loss of a busted version of a character because of pesky reworks or balance changes? Mourn no more! Exploding Judo Federation has now a built-in Revision Select tool per character. It must be first activated in the Settings and then it will be available in Versus and Training mode. Revisions keep engine quirks and bugs that were present at that time, such as e.g. untechable back grabs on juggle (v0.14.4) or a dead frame before being able to act between moves (
- An extra arcade mode (longer and without Chaingear) + minor balance changes - 3 November 2025
This patch includes some minor balance changes and introduces a new, optional arcade mode: Gauntlet. The GauntletGauntlet is a 10-opponent ladder ending against Cannon Fodder, the mad gunhead of Slumslum City, instead of the renowned Stratosphere Chaingear.Gauntlet counts as a classic Arcade mode for the sake of unlocks (and for some achievements too) and also gives access to the game's arcade endings, so, if you hated fighting the Chaingear, you can now try your luck against another final boss which plays more by the rules of the game. The choice is yours - the 'gear is still mandatory in Time Attack and Survival mode, but now you have more options to unlock costumes, stages, endings and gallery illustrations!Quick Settings in Character SelectionDid you know you could access a Quick Settings menu from Character Selection by pressing Back/Select on your joypad? Well, I'm not surprised if…
