Developed by ‘Checkmate’, a senior student team from Hoseo University, “Beyond the Mirror” is a 2D horror adventure where players manage stress and switch characters using the Baton Touch System to escape a mysterious mirror world and uncover the truth behind a chilling school ghost story.
About this game
This game contains sensitive themes such as bullying, psychological trauma, murder, and crime concealment, but these scenes are not depicted explicitly. “Hey, did you hear…? At midnight, if you stand in front of the mirror on the 2.5th floor of the central staircase and say, ‘Mirror, take me beyond the mirror,’ they say a being from the other side will pull you into the mirror world.” Yusebin pretended not to care about the rumor, but couldn’t resist her curiosity and ended up chanting the phrase. But the school legend turned out to be real... Inside the mirror world, she meets other students in the same situation and attempts to escape with them. However, something unsettling is going on in the school. What exactly happened at Seryeong High School? ■ Game Introduction “Beyond the Mirror” is a horror adventure game in which you must manage your rising stress gauge, escape from the mirror world safely, and uncover the hidden truth behind the school. ■ Stress System As the stress gauge increases, the character begins to feel nauseous, and their movement speed decreases. You can relieve stress using items like thermos bottles, chocolate bars, and hard candies. However, once the gauge reaches 80%, these items will no longer be effective. ■ Baton Touch System At certain levels of stress, you can switch playable characters at designated platforms. The first playable character can be switched at red platforms when their stress exceeds 60%, and the second can be switched at blue platforms when their stress exceeds 30%. Strategically switch characters to efficiently manage stress! ■ Puzzles Rather than simple gimmick-based puzzles, the game features puzzles that are meaningfully connected to the characters and gameplay systems. By uncovering hidden clues and solving each puzzle, you’ll take one step closer to revealing the truth behind Seryeong High School. ■ Ending You can currently play the Normal, Bad, and True Endings.
