Civilization 3 isn't the first strategy game from Sid Meier that comes to a lot of our minds as it first came out over a decade ago, but it's certainly one of the series' key entries. The classic turn-based sequel is still great fun to play regardless of its age, offering thousands of hours of content. A recently viral mom's playtime proves as much, as the dedicated Civ stan has clocked over 16,000 hours in-game. I love Civilization 6, but sometimes I pine for the art style of its equally wonderful predecessor, Civilization 5. Civilization 6's cartoony vibe is all well and good, but when you've got an entire civilisation's worth of people resting on your every decision, a serious look is sometimes required. Thankfully, there's a mod for that - and this one's from a developer at Firaxis. The Environment Skin: Sid Meier's Civilization 5 mod for Civilization 6 , by the game's art director Brian Busatti, changes the visuals of the game to better match the colours and tones of Civ 5. - Borderlands, Civilization 3 & 4 will survive GameSpy shutdown - 22 April 2014
With GameSpy's online services set to shut down on May 31, 2K Games has stepped forward and announced which of its online-enabled multiplayer games will survive the closure. Borderlands , Civilization III , and Civilization IV , and their respective expansions will all begin making the transition from GameSpy servers to Steamworks in the coming days, while several other games will see their multiplayer servers go down with the GameSpy ship.
