  • Devlog #4 - Meet the Cactus - 21 September 2026

You already know how Vegelypse was made, and we’ve introduced the antagonists. Now it’s finally time to present the protagonist or rather “protagonists”. As you learned in the previous devlog, the idea for the game would never have existed without a few spontaneous ideas of vegetables full fangs that splashes screen with their pulp. But quickly early in early sketches those creeps were joined by an anthropomorphic cactus. And you already know the rest of the story. The first Cactus sketch may not have been particularly impressive, but it set the direction for the entire game. The Cactus design evolved with every new sketch until it finally took the form we wanted for Vegelypse: we knew from very beginning it should have a short body, stubby legs, and disproportionately long, powerful arms. But were fighting for a bit with all minor tweaks, proportion of eyes, height of attach limbs, or h…

  • Devlog #2 - The Beginning - 17 July 2026

Yo, rock fans! Before we start talking about what you can expect from Vegelypse, we’d first like to take a few steps back and introduce you to our game. More specifically, we want to explain what Vegelypse actually is and what story lies behind the title. This is where Jakub takes the floor: our 2D artist, one of the game’s developers, and - one could say - the main culprit behind this whole thing.Jakub, the stage is yours!____________________________How did it all begin?A few years ago, while I was still at university, I came up with the character of a cartoon Cactus. From the very beginning, I wanted to make some kind of game with him, but none of the ideas felt good enough to take further. Over the years, I worked on various projects, in different companies and teams, and the cactus motif kept coming back to me in new sketches. There was no extraordinary event or situation that led to…

  • Devlog #1 - What's up? - 10 July 2026

Yo, rock fans! You have no idea how much we missed you! And you need to know that our lack of contact with you is not due to laziness. On the contrary – a lot has happened in recent months. Maybe even too much. In a very nutshell: Vegelypse has undergone a lot of significant gameplay changes (and not only) How did this happen? Well, we had plans to create a simple beat'em'up, with a familiar pattern: the character goes to the right and hits everything that moves. That’s all. This scheme has worked for decades, and it has worked in our project as well. But throughout the production process, we had a small, and then ever-growing, feeling that we were still missing something. Something that would make playing our game more fun.We reviewed the existing documentation, created prototypes of some certain solutions, implemented them and... Something finally clicked. We managed to create somethi…
