  nother Nvidia leak bears out: 12 seconds of footage from a Helldivers 2 trailer has leaked on Twitter ahead of an official announcement. As sequels go, Helldivers 2 shouldn't be a big surprise at this point: developer Arrowhead Game Studios (also the makers of Magicka) hasn't released a new game since Helldivers in 2015, and last October Arrowhead tweeted some cryptic binary code that seemed like a tease for an announcement that never materialized. • Helldivers is four years old and still being updated - 24 October 2019

  Every year around Liberty Day, which is October 26 in the futuristic Super Earth of Helldivers' setting, Arrowhead Studios release an update for their game of twin-stick co-op chaos. This year it comes with a new subtitle, and will be called Helldivers: Dive Harder from now on. The main change in Dive Harder is a mode called Proving Grounds, a replayable urban mission where big alien bugs have been let loose in a training facility. Three different Proving Grounds will be available during the campaign, unlocking as you go, then resetting at the end. If you make it to the top of the leaderboards during that time, you get a cape. And bragging rights, I guess. The loadout system is also changing, gaining an option to preselect favorite loadouts or randomize them.   Soldiers of Super Earth, Today marks the anniversary of the launch of Helldivers and the day we first went to Galactic War! While victories and defeats come and go, the War lasts and Super Earth is always developing new ways to spread Liberty further into the galaxy. Recognizing the importance of our fighters, we would like to acknowledge our loyal Helldivers by releasing a free prototype cosmetic outfit to use in battle.
