- The Evolution of Soul Maze: Our Vision for Early Access - 9 September 2026
Hello Souls! As the release of Soul Maze in Early Access approaches, we wanted to take a moment to talk about how the project has evolved and our vision for the future. Originally, we had envisioned several difficulty tiers. However, as development progressed, we realized that it made more sense to focus on a single tier for now, allowing us to create a more cohesive and polished experience rather than adding multiple levels without necessarily creating a meaningful enough change in the gameplay experience. Looking ahead, we'd like to explore ideas that could genuinely bring something new to the experience, such as new biomes or AI for certain player configurations. These ideas were not planned for the Early Access launch and remain possibilities for the future. For now, our priority is to make Soul Maze as solid, fun, and enjoyable to play as possible, while continuing to improve it ba…

- Light Soul Rework & Gameplay Improvement - 27 March 2026
Hello Souls! We’re continuing to improve Soul Maze based on your playtest feedback. This update brings several changes to make the experience smoother, more balanced, and more immersive.Light Soul right-click ability reworkThe Light Soul’s right-click ability has been completely reworked based on playtester feedback.Previously, this ability would make your character stand still and project a large beam of light into the sky, making you visible through walls to other Light Souls and easier to locate for the strategist. However, this ability was rarely used. Players usually stayed together, making it unnecessary.During the final escape phase, however, players can get separated after being hit by a Dark Soul, making it difficult to regroup without the strategist. To address this, the ability has been redesigned into a mobile coordination tool. While holding right-click, you carry your lantern…
- The Labyrinth Grows Darker - 13 March 2026
Hello Souls! We've been working on improving the visual atmosphere of our game, and this update makes the labyrinth darker, deeper and more immersive.Light sources now stand out much more in the darkness. Glowing elements such as torches and lanterns pierce through the shadows, creating stronger contrasts and reinforcing the mysterious feeling while exploring the maze.A more organic labyrinth We also wanted the labyrinth to feel less linear and more natural. To achieve this, we added more environmental details throughout the corridors:scattered rocks and stone formationsroots emerging from the ground and wallsvarious elements to break up long straight corridorsThese additions help the labyrinth feel less artificial and more alive.New environmental details We’ve also added several atmospheric details to bring more life to the labyrinth. New environmental decals have been introduced, inclu…
