0.5.2 patch notes:* Fixed the Swarm sometimes attacking itself.* Resource clusters on the map now show total amount of resources.* Worker bays now distribute workers to the workstation with the lowest amount of workers so that workers are distributed more evenly instead of stacking up one workstation at a time.* Dragging on the map with the mouse and WASD should now feel smoother at all zoom levels.* Bloodroses have been enhanced with higher range and a bigger buffer for bloodflies.* Piercing and striker bloodflies are more energy resistant.* Colossal blasters have reduced damage.* When bloodflies kill all targets in their target area they will now immediately return to their workstation instead of chilling at their last target's location for a few seconds. This is toavoid getting obliterated by blasters outside their range.* Acid pod tech now requires red DNA instead of green.* Bloodro…

- 0.4.20 Patch Notes - 23 August 2026
0.4.20 Patch Notes:* Fixed an issue where modules could result in weird behavior when replaced with other modules directly.* Fixed an issue where with enough random clicking you were able to mess up module stacks where they would eventually end up stacking as 1 instead of 5.* Fixed an exception caused by a null localization string.* Fixed an exception that happened when trying to deselect a no longer existing entity.* Click, hold and dragging items is now supported. Useful for players who are used to holding mouse button down while dragging items from inventory to quickbar for example.* Fixed an issue where some movers would become homeless and wouldn't look for a new home, appearing to be stuck underground* Hovering over a worker now highlights the workstation they're assigned to, if any.* Fixed Pipette tool not working on walls.
- 0.4.19 Patch Notes - 23 August 2026
0.4.19 Patch Notes:* Fixed crash that happens when researching a genetic code in the main game then quit and try to do tutorial* Trail buffers now retain references to movers. They now have a max capacity of 100. If your path exceeds 100 tiles, you can always add more trail buffers on the path (or adjacent) and movers should fill up the rest of the path. This removes the need of worker bays in the early game. Also adjusted the tutorial to reflect this.* Changed a few earlier game recipes to make progression feel a bit faster. Every basic worker (mover, firefly, snatcher, miner, feastling, bloodfly) now crafts 2 for the price of one. Same with Swarm trails and short tunnels. Expect more balances like these in the future, so keep the feedback coming!* Removed Acid Projectile II as an ingredient from green DNA blocks* Fixed issue where grabbers would ignore chest locked slots sometimes.
- Dev blog #16 - Next steps - 21 August 2026
With yesterday's release, I thought now would be a good time to write about what the next steps are for Swarmdustry. This is not a roadmap, this is just a list of a few critical next steps. First of all, thank you to everyone who has tried out the game so far! Thank you streamers as well, watching you guys play the game gave me a lot of good feedback.Three things are very clear right now: 1. The mover system is not fun.2. The tutorial is confusing and not newbie friendly enough.3. German and Japanese translations were poorly done.First off, the mover system just ain't fun. That's the overwhelming opinion of the community. People seem to enjoy every type of worker except movers. They are unintuitive and require too many clicks to set up something that should be simple and a core base mechanic of the game. And to make matters worse, when you saturate a trail full of movers, the system bec…
- Swarmdustry IS OUT NOW! - 20 August 2026
The Hive is ready to spread... Will you help it reclaim what it has lost? The wait is finally over! Swarmdustry is now out in Early Access!Thank you everyone for showing interest and supporting this solo project that I started over 2 years ago. You guys are truly amazing, and it feels very rewarding to see the response the game has received so far!I'm really proud of how far the Swarm has come, but rest assured there is so much more coming. I would say Early Access is only the beginning of the journey. There will be significant updates throughout the next few years as the game matures. Stay tuned!Thank you,M

- Dev blog #15 - 27 July 2026
Today I want to talk about the shiny new official Swarmdustry wiki, henceforth to be referred to as the Swarmpedia. (Picture is zoomed out so more stuff can fit in the screenshot)Link: wiki.swarmdustry.comAs the game is approaching the Early Access release date, I thought having a centralized knowledge repository about the game is an important thing. I know for myself when I play similar games, I tend to google things to try to deeply understand how a certain mechanic works or how to obtain an item in a more efficient matter. Because 100% of the time that knowledge is not readily available in the game. And that's because the stuff you usually find on a Wiki comes from players and there's no reasonable way for a dev to offer all that knowledge inside the game. For instance, when I played Factorio for the first time a few years ago, I had no idea what I was doing or how things worked and…

- Dev blog #14 - 24 June 2026
Hello everyone, this blog I want to talk about how Steam Next Fest went, the feedback the game received and the direction the game is going. First off, the stats. The demo was acquired 4,368 times, of which 2,819 actually downloaded and played. About 240 players played more than 3 hours and the median time played is 22 minutes. Number of wishlists gained: 3,299. Reviews gained: 4 positive and 4 negative. Number of bugs reported: less than 10. I am pretty happy about the technical part. Very few bug reports, very good game stability. However, the 'Mixed' review score is a bit demoralizing. Going from 89% the day before Next Fest started to 78% now is hard. I didn't think the demo was in such a bad state. This is certainly a reality check. The game will come out into Early Access on August 20 but development will continue up until whenever 1.0 is ready and meets the high expectations of t…

- New Trailer drop! - 19 June 2026
Hey everyone, Swarmdustry has a new trailer now! Check it out on youtube here The feedback on the previous trailer was that it wasn't really communicating what the swarm was. It wasn't showing the Swarm aspects of the Factory game and how it's really different from other games. Hopefully this one will do a better job at that!
