• Small Patch v0.1.5.9 - 7 March 2026

  Bugs Fixed: After upgrading to Unreal 5, we rolled back to TAA anti-aliasing instead of TSA for better performance on older hardware. On cards like a GT 1030, the framerate dropps by ~55% with TSA ant-aliasing. With TAA we are only down ~9%. If we were to turn off SSR, the performance loss would only have been 2% but we decided to keep SSR on for this release.

  Bugs Fixed: After upgrading the game to Unreal Engine 5, some Windows 10 machines experienced the last frame of the videos "sticking" onto the screen. We know Windows 10 is End of Life for most players, but we still want to support older systems. In the spirit of supporting older hardware, we migrated from WMF to Electra for video playback to resolve the issue.

• Upgraded To Unreal Engine 5 - 5 March 2026

  In this releases, we upgraded the engine to Unreal 5. We also added cross play support between Steam and Epic and modified the game play after receiving feedback from players. Unreal 5 required us to change a lot under the hood, like our key rebinding and server browsing system. It also brought new bugs that we had to fix. Overall, though, the upgrade process went smoothly.We would have preferred to stay on Unreal 4, but since this is a community project and the vast majority of developers want to learn to work with the newer engine, we decided to make the move.We know Unreal 5 has been receiving some bad press over the past few years, especially in regards to performance. We noticed this too, but for our project it’s not as severe on newer video cards when using settings similar to what was typical for Unreal 4.Upgrading from Unreal Engine 4.26 to 5.1 resulted in a ~9% performance loss…

• We released our first patch that addresses a playability issue and small bugs. - 4 November 2025

  Less than 96 hours since launch, we released our first patch to address some of the concerns players left as feedback. This patch also fixes a few minor bugs. Here are the changes below.Feature: We implemented a new feature after a player left feedback implying that their encounter with security might be too difficult for some players. To mitigate this issue, we implemented a new mechanic that aids players while also provides more insight into Velma’s personality. If you are forced to “spawn a new Echo” because your last Echo died, Velma now activates a circuit breaker that she grounded into the metal floor. This electrocutes both the player, as a punishment, and kills any security on that floor. As a result, this action gives the player a chance to make it to the ladder before the next wave of security arrives without having to kill them.Feature: At the start of the game, Velma now tel…
