Kendra once turned down a position at the Al-Mara Academy of Magic, choosing instead to become a hunter. But everything changes when her mentor and the academy's rector, Theophania De Camp, mysteriously disappears. Forced to return, Kendra takes on the role of teacher and unwittingly finds herself at the center of a power struggle. Theophania's reforms have destroyed the old order: faculties that divided students by race have been abolished, and severe penalties have been introduced for discrimination. These changes have awakened hidden conflicts, and now the Academy has become an arena of intrigue, suspicion, and conspiracy.
