  • Small Launch‑Day Fix - 9 March 2026

Just a quick update! We pushed a minor fix just now to smooth out a couple of issues. If you run into any bugs, odd behavior, or anything that feels off, please let us know in the Steam Discussions section. It really helps us track things quickly and keep improving the game.

  • Samurai Standoff is OUT NOW! - 9 March 2026

Hey everyone! Shy here again — and today is a huge moment for us. After months of prototyping, testing, refining, and watching players clash steel in the playtest… Samurai Standoff is officially launching in Early Access! 🥳This release means a lot to our tiny team. We’ve poured everything we have into building a tense, timing‑based duel experience, and seeing players connect with it during the playtest gave us the confidence to take the next step. But we also want to be transparent about why we chose Early Access.🏯 Why Early Access? We want Samurai Standoff to become something truly great — and we believe the only way to get there is by building it with you.Early Access lets us see how players react to the core idea: Does the game resonate? Does it have room to grow? Is there a community forming around it?If the answer is yes, we’re ready to invest more time, more features, and more dep…

  • Samurai Standoff Playtest is live! ⚔️ - 26 December 2025

Hey everyone! I’m Shy, one of the developers behind Samurai Standoff... And I’m excited to finally share that after months of planning, prototyping, and refining, the public playtest is officially live on Steam! 🥳This game has been a real passion project for us. Seeing players jump in, duel, and share feedback is a huge milestone, and it genuinely helps shape where the game goes next. 🗺️ What’s coming next? This playtest is just the beginning. We’re already working on several major features that will expand the experience:🎴 Story‑driven mode — travel across a stylized map of feudal lands, choosing your next opponent. Not every stop is a duel; some will feature unique reflex‑based mini‑games and encounters.(Reference from Taikou Risshiden IV)🥷 Multiplayer is also expanding, with several modes in development: • Same‑screen standalone duels with controller support (coming soon in the d…

  • We're Launching "Samurai Standoff"🏯 - 3 November 2025

We're BearStick, a team that came out of making game jams together, hoping to start a self-funded indie studio. This game is a love letter to the flash-era mini-games we grew up with; fast-paced, reflex-driven duels where timing is everything. You’ll fight as one of six unique warriors, each with their own story, style, and reason for stepping into the fray. Some characters didn't make it into the demo. Here's a sneak peek at Nezumi, The Twilight Thief- We're also working on a supporter pack that will include some exclusive characters. If you've supported us on UNDERNEATH, you might recognize this easter egg-
