• Funeral for the Sun Launches November 9! - 10 September 2026

  After more than a year of development, I'm happy to say that I'll be ready to release Funeral for the Sun this November 9th!For those that haven't been following the journey thus far, I'm Nico, the solo developer behind this magical realist detective game. Inspired by games like Return of the Obra Dinn, as well as Latin American fiction like 100 years of Solitude, I decided to make a game all about uncovering a mystery buried deep in the past of a small town nested deep in the jungle.Each memory, like the one seen below, is but one thread of a much larger tapestry! They're all chock full of hints and storylines that will eventually help you deduce the fates of more than 50 characters spread throughout 400 years of history and 9 hours of gameplay.Thank you to all my playtesters and early supporters who helped me realize this dream into a tangible game. • Funeral for the Sun will be localized to Simplified Chinese! - 7 July 2026

  Funeral for the Sun has received a lot of support from English speaking audiences during its release cycle, so I’m very happy to announce that it will be receiving a localization to simplified Chinese shortly after its initial English-only launch this fall! For now, you can keep track of the project by wishlisting the game on steam. A simplified chinese translation of this demo is expected to be released later this year.

• Updated Demo for Thinky Direct and Cerebral Puzzle Showcase! - 28 May 2026

  The biggest change is the new checklist sub-menu:Now players will be encouraged to find all memories in the demo and utilize their webs to deduce important details about the mysterious characters they find!Alongside this, I also added labels to each pencil so you always know exactly what each color line means!And finally, I added a separate 'hand tool' for the book, so that now every single action in the game can be taken with a simple left click!
