This cozy little town will soon turn into a battlefield! While it could still use more work, I want to focus on creating another one. I want to have something to show for the next update as well, so won't reveal what it will be just yet.I think this is also a good moment for a release date reveal!Slay the Q is coming to Steam on November 13th 2026.If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #10 - 4 September 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!Work on the game is still ongoing. This time it's new backgrounds. The one we have is nice, but can get boring, so the aim is to add new ones for some variety. Since these are big pieces, the progress is a bit slow, but steady. Hopefully We will have one to show next time!If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #9 - 21 August 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!After all the previous new content additions, this time we have a round of smaller improvements. All the new encounters and cards can now be unlocked, with a popup showing you what you just got. New deck unlocks are included in this as well.I have added a few small UI updates. Hover effects on some buttons were changed to be more consistent with each other. Encounter modifiers also got a small update to their icons, which are now all unique art instead of placeholder letters. A few new audio effects were added as well.In addition, there was a small update to remove too many instances of Silver Cup in awards. I think we had enough of them already. If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #8 - 7 August 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!New content continues. As mentioned in the last update, the game needed a few dozen new artifacts to fill out loot tables for new encounters. I wasn't able to create as many as I would like, but there are still over 40 new items added to the game.In addition, while filling out encounters with new rewards, a bunch of taunts have been added where there were none. Now each and every enemy has a chance to say something to you!If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #7 - 24 July 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!I've been busy with new content. New cards were used to create dozens of encounters, each with unique deck and loot. Actually, I needed so much loot for them that I ran out of artifacts. To resolve this I decided to add a few dozen more to the game. This is still work in progress, but getting close to done. While working on all of that, some various bugs and issues were identified and fixed.Store page screenshots and trailer got a refresh to reflect new graphical elements. If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #6 - 10 July 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!Another two weeks, another demo update. This time changes are mostly cosmetic, but it's still worth trying out!A four legendary encounters were added to the demo version, as it felt lacking without them. Rare ones that were used instead were not interesting enough. They should present nicely combined with the upcoming boss feature. There were smaller visual updates. Buttons have a new design and should combine better with the rest of the UI. Some artifacts got their descriptions updated to more clearly indicate how they interact.New cards initiative saw a significant progress, with both Chaos and Void card sets being done. These will be used to construct new enemy encounters, and a way to unlock them in the closed testing build. If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #5 - 26 June 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!New demo update is here! It finally brings the new Party mechanic, as well as few other changes. From now on, summon cards that are played have to form one of the pre-defined party compositions. These compositions, and their bonuses, can be seen in a new info panel avialable via new star button. When cards are selected, the best party they can form will be shown above the battlefield. Summons that are in the party will get a bonus, and will fight for you, while those that are not in the party will flee instead. Playing additional summons can still be beneficial though - it can trigger artifacts, grant global bonuses, or help circumvent negative enemy modifiers.Shop cards section can now contain new upgrade cards for parties. This will help you make them even more powerful! There are some other changes as well. One worth mentioning is th…

It will be added to the demo version of the game once the Tutorial is updated to cover new game rules. There is also new set of capsules for Steam page of the game. - Slay the Q Devlog #3 - 29 May 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!I've been hard at work adding new mechanic to the game that should give gameplay more depth, and encourage discarding. Until now, there is hardly much need to use the discard mechanic, as you mostly get decent mix of cards straight away. It also makes stacking same tier and same element bonuses very powerful. In the upcoming version cards will have an additional role, which will be used to determine party compositions. This in turn will encourage players to look for cards that work good with each other to form specific parties. This is still work in progress, but I hope I will be able to add it to the demo soon, together with an updated tutorial. If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the game!
- Slay the Q Devlog #2 - 15 May 2026
Hello and welcome to another dev update for Slay the Q!I hope you had fun trying out the demo during the Steam Deckbuilder Fest! During this time I have prepared some changes to both demo and full build of the game.Work on an alternative set of cards is ongoing. These have new designs and different stats from the base set. All Neutral cards are done, making this initiative 25% done.I have changed how debuff is presented on cards with hopes that it will be easier to spot and understand, as previously it was easy to miss due to too much similarity to Chaos card scheme.Artifacts that apply their effects when creature is summoned - like banners - have been modified to no longer stall processing. This is intended to make Plays more dynamic. There are also some minor text and translation fixes. If you have any feedback about the game, don’t hesitate to use the Feedback button available in the g…
- Slay the Q Devlog #1 - 1 May 2026
Hello and welcome to the first dev update for Slay the Q!I hope you had fun trying out the demo and can't wait to see what awaits us in the full game.I've been hard at work since the demo release working both improvements, bugfixes, and more content.Full build gained four new creature cards, new legendary artifact and a new deck that uses them. Since it is currently the last deck to be unlocked, I don't want to spoil what it is.The game now also saves your state at certain moments, allowing you to return to your current run if you have to close the game that is not finished. When starting a new game you might notice there are two more difficulty leaves to unlock as well!On the technical side you can now toggle Integer Scaling in the game settings which allows you to fill your screen with the game at any resolution in exchange for less crisp pixel art.If you have any feedback about the ga…
