- September Update: Controller Support is here (v0.0.81) - 12 September 2026
Hey everyone!New update just went live (0.0.81) and controller support is finally in!If you're a Steam Deck player (or just prefer a controller over mouse), you can now play the game that way. This one took way more work than I expected going in. Porting every single control over and making sure it all works naturally is a lot more than "just map some buttons here and there."If you give it a shot, let me know how the mapping feels. Anything clunky or button that doesn't feel intuitive or right I want to hear all about it.There are new story events too, keep an eye out for those on your runs, and a handful of bug fixes and balance tweaks are in it as well. That's about it for this one. Drop any feedback here or in the Discord, always appreciated! See you around, and happy weekend! https://discord.gg/PXDWcuPtWx ~ Ernes
- August Update: Cyberpunk Fest is here, and so is the Demo Update - 3 August 2026
Hey everyone!Quick one today. Match Morphosis is officially part of Cyberpunk Fest, Steam's very first one, running August 3rd through the 10th. Also dropped some new key art for the store page, figured the festival was a good excuse to give the game a fresh look. Go check it out.If you've been on the fence about trying the demo, this is a good excuse to jump in too, it's live now on the store page. For anyone new here from the festival: Match Morphosis is a match-3 where every match is also a combat move, built into a full roguelike run structure. If that sounds like your thing, give the demo a shot.Being part of a first-year festival is a bit of an unknown for everyone involved, but it felt like the right moment to get the game in front of more people. If you play it, feedback is always welcome, here, in the Discord, or wherever's easiest. And if you enjoy it, a review goes a long way…
- July Update: Perks are here, and a whole lot of gameplay balancing - 21 July 2026
Been a busy few weeks again, so let's get right into it. Perks are finally in!I know, I know, I said "more on that soon" like two updates ago. Well, soon is now. Perks are a per-run pickup that also differ per character, meaning the perks you see and choose from will lean into what that character "build" is. The idea here is to make synergy planning easier. Instead of hoping the run throws you the right pieces at the right time, perks give you a clearer thread to pull on and plan your build around from the start.I'm genuinely excited for you all to try this one. It changes how a run feels to plan out, not just how it plays. The upgrade tree is now changed, it got smarter (because you all got too good)Here's the thing about giving players more tools to build with: some of you found the "best" path way too fast, and once that happens, everyone just funnels toward it. Not fun for anyone, i…
- June Update: New Name, New Matching System, and a Bunch of New Content - 12 June 2026
Hey everyone!A few things to cover this time around, so let me just get into it.The game has a new nameMatch Morphosis is now Match Morphosis: Match-3 Roguelike. Not a dramatic change, but an intentional one. The old name told you nothing about what kind of game this is before you clicked on it. Someone browsing Steam who has never heard of it would have no idea if it was a puzzle game, a narrative game, or something else entirely. Adding the subtitle means the moment it shows up in a search or a list, people already know what they are getting into. It should help the right players find it more easily, which is the whole point.Matching has been reworkedThis is the bigger one.Previously, matching was limited to pieces of the same type. That put a hard ceiling on how many different pieces you could realistically run in a single build before things started working against each other. Ideall…
- May Update: Demo Success, Optimizations, Some Big Gameplay Changes for 0.0.61 - 6 May 2026
Hey everyone! It's been a few weeks since the demo dropped, and honestly, the response has been pretty cool to see.Since launch, the game picked up almost 250 new wishlists. That's people who actually played the demo and decided they wanted more of it, which feels way more meaningful than a random click. The average playtime is sitting ~1 hour, so yeah, people are actually staying and playing. That's all I really wanted. One small bummer though. The game didn't qualify for the Deckbuilders Festival on Steam. Their call was that it doesn't have enough deckbuilder aspect to it. Bit of a tough one to hear, but oh well. The game is what it is, and people seem to be enjoying it, so we keep going. Yeah I made above image to grief.. Some midsized streamers also picked the game up on their own, which was awesome to watch. Got a ton of useful feedback just from observing how they played and where…
- The Public Demo is Live! - 22 April 2026
It's finally here....the public demo is now live! After everything that went into this update, the visual overhaul, the audio pass, 100+ items in the compendium – I wanted to make sure as many people as possible could actually get their hands on it. So here we go!Head over to the Steam page and jump in. No hoops to jump through, just hit the demo button and you're in.If you've been on the fence about wishlisting, this is the perfect time to see what the game is actually about. And if you've been following along since the playtest days, you're going to notice a pretty big difference. As always, feedback is gold, drop it here, in the Discord, or wherever feels natural. And if you enjoy it, leaving a review really does make a difference – it's one of the best ways to help the game get recommended to other players. Anyway, I'm keeping this one short, I really just want you to play it. Stop r…
- April Update: Private Beta is Done, Public Demo is Coming! - 13 April 2026
Hey everyone! It's been a while since the last update, and I've been heads down again... but for good reason! The private beta is officially wrapped up. Thank you so much to everyone in the Discord who jumped in, broke things, and sent me feedback. You all have no idea how much that helped shape where the game is right now.So... what's next? Public demo is launching April 22nd!That's right, anyone will be able to jump in and try the game. No request needed, no waitlist. Just hit play. One thing I keep hearing from people who try it for the first time is "Oh, it's just match-3." And then they lose. Twice. And then they're still playing an hour later. Yes, it's match-3. But don't let that fool you. This game will make you think. Every tile placement matters, every combo has consequences, and if you go in on autopilot, the game will punish you for it. It's match-3 the same way chess is "jus…
- March Update: The Game Looks (and Sounds) Different Now 👀 - 20 March 2026
Hey everyone! It's been a minute....mid-March already! and I've been heads down in the game since December. But I think you'll see why when you read what's been going on, the game just got a massive glow-up. VisualsI've mentioned before that the visual side was the weak link. I manage to commission it to a friend of mine. The UI, the art, the capsule images, all of it has been reworked and polished. The Steam capsule got a fresh new look too, so if it catches your eye differently on the store now, that's why! AudioSound design got a serious pass as well. The satisfying crunch of matching tiles, the audio feedback on combos, it all hits differently now. Good audio is one of those things you don't notice when it's done right, but you absolutely feel it. I hope it adds to that "one more run" feeling, kudos to the composer too, she absolutely nailed it. ContentNew stuff has been added to the…

- Introducing Match Morphosis, A Roguelike Deckbuilder Match-3 - 20 November 2025
test mic 1, 2, 3 Hi Steam community! This is my first time posting here, so please bear with me. I'm a solo developer who's been working on Match Morphosis, and this is my first project on Steam. I've released mobile games in the past, but PC gaming has always been my dream platform to develop for. What is Match Morphosis? It's a match-3 roguelike deckbuilder—think games like Peglin or Dungeon Clawler, but with my own spin on the genre. The core mechanics are heavily inspired by Slay the Spire, with that same addictive loop of building synergies and making strategic choices, but delivered through match-3 gameplay instead of traditional card battles. The Journey So Far:I've been working on this game in my spare time for the past 8 months—sometimes just 1-2 hours a day whenever I could squeeze it in. When I initially showed the game to a bunch of friends, something clicked. It actually had s…
