- Demo Update | Patch Notes #2 - 11 June 2026
Demo Update | Patch Notes #2 This update reworks how you carry resources, adds a demolition tool, a new Giant request, and clears out a batch of long-standing annoyances. Carrying, reworked Resources now stick to your hand: click once to grab them, no need to keep the button held.Grab a pile and nearby resources of the same type are scooped up along with it.While carrying: a quick tap drops one unit, a tap on another pile of the same type adds it to your hand, and holding the click drops everything. The chest and the storehouse use the same system: click a slot to take one item, hold to scoop up the whole stack, and release over a storage window to put it all away. No more dropping things on the ground in between. Demolish buildings New tool in the build menu: arm it, click a building (or an unfinished blueprint) and it's gone, the ground is freed for something better.Right-click to put…

New Objective, Reworked Rewards & BalancingThis update brings a new run objective, a reworked Giant reward system, an expanded tutorial, and several balance adjustments.New run objectiveNo more collecting 200 gold coins: you now have to keep the Altar's fire burning until daybreak. Last until dawn, and the Giants pay your rent.Runs are shorter (~20 minutes) for a more intense experience. Reworked Giant rewardsWhen you unlock a reward, a screen now appears directly with three bonus cards, one per Giant. (No more notification to click, no camera pullback, no dialogue.)Pick a card: the others vanish and the bonus applies immediately. The game pauses while you choose, no pressure.Every Giant makes you an offer, even the unhappy ones.Safety net: if you have fewer than 4 children left, a card will always offer you a new one, so you're never stuck.Cards respond to hover for better readability.…

Hi everyone! We are NOT sad to announce that Childwood will no longer exist.Say hello to...Feed the GiantsWhy this change???As French developers, we didn’t realize that 'wood' can be used as English slang. We had no idea that Childwood could be perceived as problematic. Thankfully, many of you warned us on Reddit and helped us make the decision to change the game’s name. We chose Feed the Giants for several reasons: Avoid any problematic interpretationBetter reflect the game’s objectiveEmphasize the streaming metaphor with the word 'Feed' We also redesigned the logo to move away from the Burton-esque / Don’t Starve-inspired style and give it a more threatening identity: What do you think? Do you like it?Meet us at Indie Game LyonAlso, we'll be participating in Indie Game Lyon this week-end. If you’re around, come playtest the demo in preview and meet the team! We’ll be waiting for you!Se…
