- 6/6 Update - 6 June 2016
Alright, we're switching over the control system on the main version of the game. Make sure to leave the "controltest" beta branch! It will be going away shortly. We're eventually going to integrate the new controller system into the one-player modes so people can easily use alternate controllers throughout the game. Also the bronze/silver/gold achievements should actually be obtainable instead of capping off at 36/37 progress. And here's our support form again, naturally. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/14AGPiTEsOuckMhEMc1ZrElcQOyj0_NHBv-lBqrq1VJI/viewform

- New controller system beta and other updates - 2 June 2016
We've put up a new update to the game so that it uses a non-XInput-reliant controller system, since DirectX is a problem for non-windows platforms. Since the required us to make quite a few big internal changes, we're making it be on a public beta for a bit, and anybody can help us test it if they want. Just right click OmniBus in your Steam library, go to Properties, then Betas, and join the "controltest" beta. We're testing to make sure the whole game works the same, though Versus mode is the main point of concern. We also made a few other small changes, most notably fixing the All Bronze/Silver/Gold achievements. It should hopefully work now and should give you the achievements if you didn't already have them. Let us know if it doesn't! Again here is the support form to get a hold us us: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/14AGPiTEsOuckMhEMc1ZrElcQOyj0_NHBv-lBqrq1VJI/viewform Thank you!

- OmniBus Driving/Crashing Onto PC Next Week - 22 May 2016
OmniBus is a bit like the movie Speed if it lived in the Mercenary III world and hung around with Crazy Taxi. That’s a weird combination, isn’t it? Want something weirder? The game’s Bus Driver Edition comes with a soundtrack and an “actual MCI bus that may or may not have been used to motion capture lifelike bus movement,” so say publisher Devolver Digital. There’s one available for $7,500, apparently, for which they request “serious inquiries only.” So there you go. If you’d be happier with OmniBus’ digital incarnation, though, it’s out next week. …
- OmniBus to release next week, special edition includes real bus - 20 May 2016
OmniBus , aka the game about the bus that couldn't slow down, is releasing on May 26. In case you missed it, I played a bit of an early build a couple of months ago, and found it to be very stupid but also reasonably fun . It's not often that a game lets you smash a bus through giant bowling pins, so we should be grateful it exists, really. Typically, there are a bunch of incentives for you to buy OmniBus quickly: the day one "Game of the Year" edition comes with a 10 per cent discount on Steam . Meanwhile, there's the Ultimate Bus Driver edition, which comes with the game's digital soundtrack and a real life bus. Yeah, a real life bus. It's a 1977 MCI Charter Bus, and I don't know how much buses usually cost in the United States, but I'm tempted to assume that the $7,500 asking price for the Ultimate Bus Driver edition is a bit of a bargain. You'll have to pick it up from Austin, Texas…
- OmniBus: the bus that couldn't slow down - 4 March 2016
My co-worker, let s call him Paul, hates OmniBus . Every time I played the preview build in the office, he would come sit at my desk and talk about how silly it is. He would sit there and watch me crash my bus into buildings, pinball bumpers, trains and cars. This game is dumb as hell, he would say repeatedly, shaking his head, while continuing to watch me play the stupid bus game . OmniBus is not a smart game. The nominal bus is the protagonist, and the objective is to make it to the end of a level, make enough trick points, smash into certain objects (coffins, for example) or to avoid crashing for a set period of time. Thing is, not crashing is very difficult, especially when there are speed boosts, jump pads and pinball bumpers spread throughout each world. It might be sensible not to drive at all under these circumstances, but alas: OmniBus is the bus that couldn t slow down, nor st…
- Omnibus pits an unstoppable bus against very brittle buildings - 30 January 2016
Omnibus is just about as weird as it looks. I got a chance to play it today on the show floor of PAX South , and was happy to see that there was more to it than just the strange exterior. While it may look like just another wacky sandbox game, the missions and objectives in each level turn the topsy-turvy bus crashing controls into a difficult to master game mechanic. I spoke with Developer Amir Badri about why his game is so damn strange and fun, which you can watch in the interview above.
- PS1-alike OmniBus careering onto Steam in Spring - 15 January 2016
Phil wrote a bit about OmniBus last year, rightfully describing it as "cool" and even creating a new tag in honour of it. A lot has happened since Phil wrote his story. Studio Buddy Cops has continued to develop it off the back of a Kickstarter campaign, and respected indie publisher Devolver Digital has decided to publish it. Described as "a crazy Playstation 1 style physics game about the unstoppable force of nature that is OMNIBUS!", the game is set to release in spring (or autumn if you're in Australia). The game looks like fun, and will presumably involve more than just ramming buses into the side of buildings (perhaps the free demo holds the answer). Even if the game doesn't involve more than ramming buses into the side of buildings, that seems okay to me. But if the game ends up being garbage, at least we'll have the above trailer, an alternative history where OmniBus is a long-a…
