- Version 0.37 - 7 September 2026
This update adds a CRT filter that recreates the look of a CRT display. You can turn it ON or OFF from the Config menu.CRT Filter: OFFCRT Filter: ONStandard displaySimulated CRT displayEnabling the CRT filter brings more of that classic arcade atmosphere to the game.My goal is to give this game an authentic arcade feel. However, the game does not feature nudity or stripping.Note: Many Japanese arcade hanafuda games feature opponents who remove clothing, such as kimonos, when you win. There are no plans to include this feature in this game. Ecchi na no wa ikenai to omoimasu! The CRT filter is also planned for the free demo in a future update.

- Version 0.33 - 16 July 2026
This update applies only to the macOS and Linux versions. On these platforms, the game uses SDL2 to render a 640×400 texture to the screen at 60 FPS. We discovered that the texture buffer (framebuffer) was incorrectly allocated for only 399 rows (640×399), and have fixed the issue. This bug could cause crashes and other problems. We believe this update resolves them, but since we do not have access to hardware on which the issue can be reproduced, we cannot guarantee that the fix is complete. If you encounter any further issues, we would greatly appreciate it if you could report them on the Community forum.
- Version 0.32: HanaKlo Achievements - 14 July 2026

For that reason, these achievements are currently based solely on total accumulated EXP.Once you get the hang of it, the Beginner and Intermediate achievements should be relatively easy to unlock, but the Advanced achievement may prove more challenging. For reference, during debugging, it took me 145 plays—or roughly nine hours—to unlock it.Rendering Performance Improve…

This update includes the following changes:Added the Stage 5 theme, "Reigen's Theme"Reorganized the Free Play menuImproved the default leaderboard page behavior1. Added the Stage 5 Theme: "Reigen's Theme"Stage 5 features a horror-themed setting. So I composed a ghost-inspired theme for it.Although Stage 5 has not yet been implemented in Arcade Mode, you can already listen to the track in the Music Room.I think it turned out pretty well, though it may sound a bit more like Dracula than a ghost.Still, they're both broadly supernatural, so I suppose it's close enough!2. Reorganized the Free Play MenuThe Free Play menu has been separated from the title screen's main menu.Main MenuFree Play MenuThis change will make it easier to add new game modes in future updates. There are no concrete plans yet, but I'm considering expanding the variety of games you can play.3. This mini update includes several improvements, such as smoother card animations and additional map details.Improved card movement (transition)Added the ship (Kan'ei Maru) NPC to the road between Stage 1 and Stage 2Other minor fixes(1) Improved Card MovementI've adjusted the initial acceleration of card animations based on the distance between the starting and ending positions.Cards that travel only a short distance now move more gently, while cards traveling farther move more quickly, making the perceived animation time feel more consistent.(2) Ship NPCBattle Hanafuda includes a custom RPG engine called Sungeki Engine, which is used to implement the map traversal sequences between stages in Arcade Mode. You can think of it as something similar to RPG Maker, except it's built in VGS-X (C).By adding support for NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) to Sungeki Engine, I was able to place the ship…
